Ok, well I'm not reading this whole thread so if this has been said already then I apologize.
All those people who thing they are smart by waiting to get married are not as smart as they think. I'm not saying that you should go out and have booty call hookups where you just have one night stands. You can't do that anymore with any amount of saftey with all the diseases going around. But if you are in a relationship with someone then go ahead and have sex with them. Why? Several reasons:
1. If you wait to have sex with someone until you are married you might end up being sexually incompatible. If this is the case you will end up divorced or cheating on each other all the time.
2. If you are a guy and over the age of 21 or 22, the majority of the girls you are gonna date will not be virgins. They will have had experience and are gonna expect that you do too. Or is a girl that is not 'pure' not good enough for you?
3. You finally meet 'the one' and then since you are so in love you cave and have sex before you get married. Only problem is she dated some guy for 2 years and they banged 4 times a week. Now you step in lasting for 30 seconds with no idea what you are doing. Boom you are dumped and she is out looking for someone who can please a woman.
Trust me, unless you find yourself some real religious girl she isn't gonna care if you are not a virgin because she probably isnt either. And a guy can always pretend he is a virgin if she is and wants that. |

I disagree. I was 23 when I lost my virginity. I hooked up with girls before, and every time I would tell them that I was a virgin, they wouldn't believe me. I was intending on waiting for a really meaningful first experience, and ended up, at least, losing it to a girl I was dating for a while, but I don't know if I would say I'm happy or unhappy about it. I have had a quite a few more experience and as fun as it is, without an emotional attachment, it's more or less masturbation with a female present.
I wouldn't say there is a right or wrong answer to the virginity issue. It has to be a personal decision. At that point, the only thing that matters is that the individual is happy about their decision. I hear the compatability argument, but everyone has to make their own choice. |
