Jim must be a really short guy!!!

He's so 'vertically challanged' that he can only reach the button for the 10th floor.

Am I right?

The guy is too short to puch the elevator buttons!

I've heard too many riddles over the years but one that really hit me was this one ... takes some time to explain:

THE SITUATION:

3 guys go to a hotel on a business trip but there is only 1 room left. They are all tired and so decide to share the room for the night. The landlady tells them the room is £30 for 1 night. They each pay £10 (3 x £10 = £30) and head off up to the room. As they are climbing the stairs the landlady realises the room should only be £25 and not £30 as she charged them. She calls the bellboy, gives him the £5 refund and tells him to take it to the men upstairs. On his way he decided he can't be bothered splitting the £5 between 3 guys so he pockets £2 and gives each of the men £1 each.

THE QUESTION:

Each guy paid £10. BUT they got £1 back in refund right?

So if they each only paid £9 (3 x 9 = £27) and the bellboy kept £2 what happened to the other pound? (£27 + £2 = £29)

Try it. Read the situation over and over again, use a calculator, pen/paper whatever ... it took me ages when I first heard it. Have fun folks.

The kittens riddle btw is simple. All the owner is saying is that "half of the kittens are female" he doesn't say ONLY half or EXACTKY half just that half are female.

The landlady has £25
The bellboy has £2
The men have £1 each - £3

25 + 2 + 3 = 30....

I see no problem with that....?
The men spent £27 after their refund

Bellboy has £2
Landlady has £25

altogether they spent $25 on the room and the other $5 was refunded.

25+5=30

$25 on the room split 3 ways is $8.33 each. the $5 refund was split between the 3 people as well...that $1.66 each.

they each kept $1 and they all gave the bellboy $2 that they split between the 3 of them....that's $0.67 each for the bellboy.

so:

$8.33 for the room
$0.67 for the bellboy
$1.00 refunded to pocket

= $10.00 / person

--> ($10.00 / person) x (3 people) = $30.00

...and if you take the arcosine of that number, take the definite integral and perform a laplace transform of the function you get....

hey cigarette was a really good answer i honestly thought that he was right..anyhow, heres an easy one...you are wandering in a blizzard for a day and a half and are freezing to death. you see in the distance a wooden structure. you have spotted a log cabin! you finally make it to the cabin. inside, you find a kerosene lamp, a wood burning stove,an oil burner, and one candle. you only have one match. what do you light first?

The match.

I never was, am always to be,
No one ever saw me, nor ever will
And yet I am the confidence of all
To live and breathe on this terrestrial ball.

What am I?

I'm not sure but is it the future? I'm pretty sure that's it. Ok, here's a few I just found. They are simple classic riddles.

Runs smoother than any rhyme, loves to fall but cannot climb!

Maybe,

You get many of me, but never enough.
After the last one, your life soon will snuff.
You may have one of me but one day a year,
When the last one is gone, your life disappears.

What am I?

and

This thing all things devours:
Birds, beast,trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

What am I?

Have fun!
