I can't deny that Montreal in '93 was 100 times worse than this video. However, there were tons of riot cops trying to control a crowd of 10s of thousands and things obviously got out of hand.
Looking at this video, I'd say the number of troublemakers was ~100 ppl? Where were the cops?!! They didn't see this coming? Arresting 1 person here, 1 person there doesn't help. Where was the paddy wagon to lock them all up!? |

| and this is why im leaving this country. filled with a bunch of idiotic pissed off opressed people headed nowhere in their lives and adding absolutely nothing to society except for their taxes.and this goes for everyone. even you reading this. the way of life in north america is not the way life should be lived. its such a simple concept and its pure manipulation to get the richer wealthier and it makes me sick, make the lazy lazier and collect every dollar we can possibly squeeze out of them. CANADA! ive been preaching this for too long. This in photoage just got me really in pissed off and it doesnt help the fact i recognize some of my friends in this phototage. gah i cant even attempt to explain whats wrong with this picture and whats wrong with this country, goes soo much deeper then just words.i wish i was that reporter and instead of carrying a camera i had a sniper rifle. |

| I dont see why people are reacting so harshly to this video. Yeah there was some drunk idiots doing stupid, dangerous acts. But whats the worst thing that happened out of all this?? I cab flipped over and maybe a little dented. Big deal. Cabby's rape the hell out of you on prices anyways. What else??? A few scraps, a girl gets decked by a cops bike helmet. I find most of what happened in the video pretty humourous. |

thats good i find it retarded..cause this is only the that got captured on video...how many fights u think there were? i would bet a in lot. now picture urself inside ur car driving down that way and getting swarmed by a group of idiots and they begin denting in ur car. what would u do? how would u feel abt the situation? me, for one i know id flip out and prolly get a crobar from my trunk or something..and most likely id swing, and more then likely if i swung id get beat down by 80 drunkin idiots and most likely hospitalize and /or killed. u dont know what type of people were partying there. i do. i hang out with alot of these types of people who get drunk and go crazy. hell i have partaken in alot of like this. dont think for a minute these sort of people are like u or like ta's. ive come to realize one thing ta's are free thinkers. these people arent.
and im not saying oh these people are dangerous cause theyre not dangerous people and alone theyre all prolly cool people. but u get a few thousand of them together and u got problems lol. |

Did you even read the link you posted?!!? The Richard riot was started from a feeling of ANGER and desperation from French Canadians over Clarence Campbell's decision to suspend the Rocket. They were UPSET and PISSED OFF and hence rioted. These kids in TO? They were "celebrating."
There's no comparison whatsoever. Give me a break. I could name you tons of examples where there have been riots in the world! But normally they're caused for different (and often more important) reasons than winning a hockey game. |

I wouldnt be dumb enough to be driving downtown right after Canada won the Worlds. Take a bus, or walk. You'd get there faster. |

What?!? Didnt you just say you wanted to flee the country because of people/acts like this, and now you're admitting to partaking in these types of activities!??! Put it this way - in North America, anytime a victory in a popular competitive sport there will be outbreaks like this. You just have to make sure you stay away from the main areas if you dont want to have anything to do with the "festivities". |

that was a pretty stupid thing of u to say. #1 because day to day u never know what type of situation your going land urself in. maybe for example u work downtown and that day forever reason u brought ur car. and u not being a hockey fan didnt even realize that night there even was a hockey game..if u look at the photoage an intrepid landed itself in that situation
#2 cabbies provide a service. if they want to bring home any money they have to drive their looking for drunkin idiots to drive home. this is their job. |
