Well, the fact is that it was opening night as well. After all these months of waiting and having their expectations built up, people are going to be pretty concerned with how the club itself was. From the look of it, it hasn't improved much since Insomnia (except for the sound system).
For me atleast, it doesn't matter how good the DJ is if the club is THAT ty. It really hampers your ability to enjoy the music. |

oh my.
well, theres not a whole lot i can say about this that you cant read on the glow forums. 3 hour wait. the longest i,ve ever waited for any dj was teisto at the old glow on zei street. that was 2 hours and 5 years ago. almost right away you started to relize they had oversold the event. when i finally got to the front i turned around and there was literally,LITTERALLY 1500 people behind me. people were booing. collectively. as a group. it was...surreal.ive never seen anything like it at any club ive been to.the people at the front just mishandled it.staff outside were running around like chickes with there heads cut of. when you initionally ordered your tickets it said right in black and white that ticket holders first until midnight and non ticket holders after 12. walking back and forth for bathroom breaks you could see that was not the case. the non ticket line was one third the size and people were moving through it pretty good.ive never seen so many angry clubbers. so...walked in a little after 2. pvds playing ,sounds good but theres just no room.try to go upstairs to use the bathroom(which are nice by the way i aint gonna lie,no waiting.kind of sad when the bathroom line was the highlight of my night). im on the stairs jammed full to capacity.......and two guys start fighting .2 guys become 3, then 4 and the 5th guy jumps on everybody and the whole group goes spilling down the stairs. and they were at the top. it was right out of a movie. so i set my beer down to help break it up. pull the first guy i can get a hand on up and hes busted wide open. i pull him up the stairs and tell his friends to take him out. he goes away ....and 30 seconds later he comes back. a security guy wants him to point out the guy who did it!i explain that this guy can not be down there, hes bleeding everywhere, but security guy doesent want to hear it. so this guys dripping blood being led through the crowd. bleeding on people! people are freaking out. the guy who started it was never found of course but you cannot do this kind of thing. if someones bleeding from the head you take them out of the environment. A.you dont know what he has, and B.if he passes out in the middle of the floor good luck geting paramedics in there. so im sure that will be a lawsuit.
overall, will i go back?...... of course. ive had to many good memories from glow to be discouraged over this.
will i go if its a big name dj?... no. not if its handled like this again.tiesto at nations had more people there and i got in in 30 min. and had a better time.and if nations hears about this id expect then to take advantage of glows screwup.
will i order tickets online again? definetly not. ill take my chances at the door as it seemed to work for other people.
BUT THAT BATHROOM WAS NICE!
seriously, it pains me to write this. i love glow and want it do well, cuz that means more dj's for us. but my job doesent allow me to just take off. i took off work for this two months in advance just to be there last night and it was a disaster. we can only hope it improves and im going to try to be there for M.I.K.E. so for me that will be the real test. almost a month for them to get it straight. lets see what happens.
GIVE TRANCE A CHANCE.... |

You're right, it was spotless! Just hope that they stay that way ;)
I missed the fight... too busy dancing.
I'm still deciding whether or not I'll be going for Marco V |

God i am sooo glad Dave and I didn't go for this circus. i wasn't too excited to go to begin with, so i know i wouldn't have had fun anyway. $40 for parking? what a ing joke. 2 hours to wait? as if 9 months wasn't long enough. Glow/FUR/panorama, get your act together or i guarantee that will fold asap. i already have read about 10 reviews from people saying that was the worst night ever and they will never, ever go back.
i of course want to check this place out...but i'm sure it was just extra insane for opening night. hopefully it will be calmed down/have a better management by M.I.K.E. because i don't want to miss him!!! |

Adam:
I've read about the fight on the glow forum. TskTsk Tsk, did you know what exactly started that fight?
Also, it looks like I'm not able to party with you guys til November or late December, due to the fact I am broke, and school is on my head 24/7.
Does anyone have the complete tracklist? Or is it you guys didn't have room to write it down? |

I guess we shouldn't expect a DJ of PvD's stature to make an apologetic post like Dave Dresden did today. Considering that Paul probably made at least $30k last night, you would think that he would at least have someone in PR do it, though.
Oh well - c'est la vie!
It's just good to see a DJ that's in touch with his fans. Good job, Dave!

hello all
it was awesome to see such a great early turnout for our gig at space last night. little did we know that we were going to be put on before the club even opened and then our set was to be cut short by both an arrogant sound guy his resident dj (how fitting that he started his set with the "what the " acappella). luis puig was not even there so u can't put it on him this time.
however, since our names were used to promote the night as if we were headliners, there will be a few things that will change if we ever play space again. one is that we will play all night.
and to make it up to the dedicated we will def have a meetup or an afterparty next time we're in miami.
thanks for your support

I guess you've never been to Buzz/Cubik. They treat their customers like human beings and don't rip people off. I know, it's a crazy idea, but it seems to work for them. |

Yeah but people at Buzz normally wear "weird" clothes and listen to weird non-trance music. Totally unacceptable.
I didn't go to PvD, won't go to Glow, and ing hate Melodic Trance. Glad you dumbasses had a bad time. Serves you right for not seeing the OBVIOUS coming.
PvD + Corporate Clubbing = Bad Experience... get it? |
