Rank 1 are composed of Piet Bervoets and Benno de Goeij. Piet does the DJ tour while Benno is in the studio helping to make new tracks. When they're together at a gig, it's for their legendary but RARE live PA show, when they play actual instruments, such as keyboards. The live shows are 75 to 85% shorter than their DJ sets but I would dare say unbelievably euphoric, melodic and just plain trance PURITY. I only saw the live show ONCE, at Trance Energy 2005....the set was ONLY 20 minutes.......but........

And that's why Rank 1 got my vote as act of the night. Closing with Airwave (LIVE) was the sickest thing I had EVER seen. |

I can't wait for HUSH next month...Rank 1's debut in Florida! You should try to go..a lot of us are. You may even get to hear Piet play Forbidden Ways or This Way. ;)

According to Rank 1's gig page, Piet will be spinning at EDEN in Ibiza on Tuesday. Oh I REALLY hope that set gets recorded!!!! |

Yes, definitely more money than Trance Energy. Flying to Ibiza in its peak season (June to September/October) is like over $1,000, whereas flying to Amsterdam for Trance Energy in Late January/Early to mid February is like a little over $500. It's cheaper to fly to Amsterdam in Jan/Feb because it's the middle of winter....and ing FREEZING. :nervous: It was so much colder this year than last. |
