I see what you guys mean about being turned off by someone who lives and breathes the gym and the mirror, but quit bashing model pictures. Face it, they’re smoking hot, and they probably wouldn’t give you a second glance, so in defense you start ripping them apart.
and i agree with floorfiller....
arbiter, those guys are not underweight...give me a break. that fat ass might be able to beat them up, but that doesn't mean he's healthier than them. you don't know what those models eat or do in the gym....whatever they're doing, they're doing it right though:p |

Why would I want a male model giving me a second glance? |

Well there is something to be said for that, I suppose. But I think you'd find that, if you have the same level of confidence, there are plenty of women out there who are attracted to men who, well, actually look like men.
But different people just find different characteristics attractive. I don't often find really thin women attractive myself, I prefer a more athletic build. I look at wanting to keep yourself in good health to be an attractive personality characteristic and to me trying to starve yourself to be as thin as possible is an unattractive personality characteristic. That's just me and sometimes I feel like I'm in a significant minority among guys by feeling that way. But there you have it.
In any case I still can only recommend taking good care of your body first and then worrying about your relationships second. But that's just my opinion, you should do things your own way. |

no i agree with what you said there at the end...you gotta worry about number 1 first.
but all i meant is that...some of us want to look a certain way. it gives us something to work towards and helps us with confidence...there isn't anything wrong with that. just as there isn't anything with the goals of the dude you posted. |

I don't have a problem with you finding them attractive, but they simply aren't as healthy as you'd like to believe. I'm sorry to shatter your vision that being as thin as possible is the same as being healthy, but it's not. What they're doing in the gym may be an effective program for being attractive, but in terms of health it's a joke. They are underweight. Maybe you like your men underweight - that's fine. But don't confuse what you find attractive with what's actually physically healthy. |

| you can't make that assumption arbiter. i'm 5'5, 106 lbs...obviously thin, but i can eat a whole large pizza all by myself (no joke). i have extremely high metabolism and it runs in my family. my dad is tall and thin and all my uncles are too...so just because i'm little, doesn't mean i'm starving myself because i'm insecure and trying to look like a model. |

Who's bashing the pics? All I said was I don't dig guys like that. In no way does that mean I think they look bad. Wow. I don't need even one glance from a guy like that to know I'm attractive. I don't want to be the kind of girl that's in "their league". Again, I'm a realist.

Metabolism does make a big difference. I have very high metabolism as well, which is why I usually have to keep a 7-9k calorie diet when I'm gaining weight. If you're still athletic at that weight and work out in both cardiovascular and muscular fitness, you're probably not in bad shape.
I know that not everyone who's really thin is starving themself. My brother used to be 6'1 110 lbs and he wasn't starving himself. But he was thinner than would be healthy for him nonetheless. |
