That's because you don't pay any attention to the trance scene. And when Ferry or AVB come to town, they aren't allowed to play trance songs unless they are classics. So you probably have no knowledge of the sick trance ch00ns that have been released over the past few years.

Those guys (in the list above) spin and produce the ch00ns that trance is supposed to sound like.
malek
I don't pay attention to any particular scene for your information.

Its a waste of time unless you're a dj/producer which I am not.

All I want is to hear good music and be entertained, something that i have not witnessed coming from trance djs.

Thank you for proving my point with that comment.

Thats a really retarded thing to say. I look at house DJs coming to Montreal and I havent heard of 99.9% of them. Does that mean that every single one of those DJs will lose money for the club? Just because you are ignorant to a type of music, doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

I want to know how you know whether or not these trance DJs will make a club some money. Ive looked into how much some of these lesser names cost, and a montreal club would make money if they knew what they were doing. I wish I was living in Montreal (well actually I wish I was living in Vancouver, but for arguments sake Ill use Montreal) because I would seriously consider bringing in top trance talent like the list above on a regular basis. The breakeven for someone like Thrillseekers is about 300 people and he is higher up on the list than most. I would bring him to Ottawa except all the clubs here are about that size, making it a stupid investment.
malek
ok buddy, take a breath of fresh air and name some places/clubs in montreal that have a capacity of 500-700 not more and we'll discuss from there.

Dude !!

The difference is that Malek has seen all trance acts that have been to aria since it's opened

You never got your ass out for a house night

So please ...

Get down from your trance is the best music in the world pedestal, we all know you love trance and that you don't give a about anything else compared to everybody in the Mtl section who are, contrary to what u think, pretty open minded !!

Yeah, I want to get Filo & Peri up to Ottawa sometime. Since they are from this side of the pond, they wont be as expensive.

And I think I have every right to talk about trance all I want. If you guys think its ok to bash it all the time, then I have the right to praise it all the time. Its a two way street.

This is still tranceaddict, where the discussion of trance music is still considered the norm. If people who didnt like trance would stay the out of threads that dont concern them, this place would be a lot more fun. Its always the same person too, and they say something really retarded and never have the grapes to stay around and back it up.

It seems people have a problem with me and the fact I like music that other people dont. There are a lot of hypocrites on this forum.

Krinker:

I really dont understand the point of your post. Does it really matter if Malek has gone to a club a bunch of times? How does it prove whether or not he knows if a DJ who hasnt even been to said club is going to draw?

For example, Ive been to the grocery store every week since its opened. They sell bread and milk. How am I going to know what the reaction is going to be if they start selling ice cream? Its never been sold before, so the only way to know is to try. They take a shot because the ice cream doesnt cost very much and they think the demand is there because a similar product (milk) has had good sales.

Malek:

Are there seriously no venues besides Aria in montreal that have a capacity of more than 500 people? I find that hard to believe for a city that has "the best night life in Canada".

regardless, it would still be nice to see some lesser (ie non ferry, armin tiesto, pvd) trance djs perhaps open for oakenfold or one of the guys mentioned above once in a while. There are a whole slew of sick new young trance dj/producers that are coming up in the scene. If porter playing the same style can open for sasha or smooth opening for bbb, i don't see why trance couldn't open for trance? These guys are all relatively cheap as well since they aren't as well known.
Assassin
Yeah, like when Ronald van Gelderen opened for Ferry Corsten, he blew me away. I enjoyed his set much more than Ferry's. First time I ever heard Whiteroom too, hehehe.

Have u read what i said ??

I was talking about broadening your horizons ??

Btw Aria has booked more than those big headliner in the past !

Rank-1
Marco V
Alec tood ( opening for Oakie )
Dj Brian
Guy Ornadel
Sandra Colling ( which was considered one of the only female trance dj when she played aria the first time ! )
John Kelley

And those are only those i can remember !

So what, they don't book those smaller lesser known trance dj's ?
Do you hear me complaining each and everymonth that Jfl didn't book smaller house talent ??

I'd kill for dozens of house/breaks acts in montreal ... do you hear me whining and bitching and complaining about it ??

NO 'CAUSE I'M JUST IN HAPPY THAT WE HAVE A CLUB THAT GOES ALL OUT TO BOOK THE BEST AND BIGGEST TALENT OUT THERE !!!!
