who is this jfl guy? his name pops up a lot in this forum...aria promoter? owner? sorry to turn the topic of this thread to aria.
where is this event going to take place? i'm starting to make plans for new years, possibly to see PvD in NYC@club ikon. |

HE's the owner of Aria and I believe Dagorbert as well? I know he's affiliated with Dagobert intimately anyways!
Krinker, Marco V is not trance I don't care what people label him as. He's closer to techno than trance! And Sandra Collins as well, I don't care, she was never trance, maybe prog, I know she did Tranceport 2, but it wasn't trance , the closest she's been in prog trance! Besides, Rank1, Marco V and Alec Tood are all major headliners I wouldn't consider them small names in the least! |

1-More power to you. If you want to listen to multiple genres, I'm happy for you.
2-Why is it a waste of time? If one is really keen on something (say hockey for example), does that mean it's a waste of time to play alot of hockey? Does it mean that this hockey player is wasting his time despite the fact that he's doing something he loves?
3-You don't have a good time because:
a)Trance DJs rarily go to Montreal
b)When trance djs actually do come to Montreal, they are told to play something other than trance
c)Maybe you don't like trance? (hell, you don't even know the leading producer/djs in the genre).
d)Maybe those responsible for booking "talent" at clubs in Monreal for trance are so bent on getting the likes of armin, ferry, that they neglect the other talent that fuel trance today? |

Okay, you are clearly a moron. Why do you keep bringing up Aria? Who said I was talking about Aria. In my first ing post I said I wasnt talking about Aria. UNBELIEVABLE. Im talking about an entire city which is supposed to have the best night life in Canada. Im sure you can find enough house and breaks in Montreal. All Im asking is where's the trance in the city with the best night life in Canada? Instead, you put words in my mouth (funny how I have to keep bringing that up, since its clearly true).
And im shwoing my discontent about lack of trance in a city, ON A ING TRANCE MESSAGE BOARD. And a forum that caters to the city I am talking about no less. Where the else would I do it?
Next time I see you make a comment showing any discontent about anything Ill make sure to throw the hypocrisy flag. |

Where does it say anything about Aria should stop booking non-trance? At no point did anyone ever say that Trance should over-run techno or house or whatever.
Shaun and I are exposed to various genres all the time. If we don't like it, does that mean we are narrowminded? We are passionate about trance, does that make us tards?
Besides don't tell me we aren't exposed to music other than trance; because we are exposed to non-trance everytime we go down to montreal to see Armin, Ferry, PVD, and the like. Not only from those dj's but, from their openers too. |

I'm talking abotu aria because it's the only club that does care about trance.
You'd be surprised on how many act that i wanna see that i know won't never make it to montreal
You have to realise that montreal is not only considered for the best nightlife in Canada just for the booking that are done in that City, But mostly because of the vibe that there is in the City !!
I'm know to be a bitch and to whine about everything, but I CAN KNOW WHEN TO STOP, YOU DON'T ' Since you've been here you've did nothin but bitch and whine ... if you're not in happy take your little money and try to do a Trance night, maybe you'll understand things !!

People, People!
You musn't be closed minded to other genres. If your in Montreal or Toronto, you're gonna have to listen to more than just trance, or you're gonna cut yourself off from most of the best parties. Whether it be house, techno, trance, progressive, breaks or drum n' bass, a good party with a good vibe is just that. If you can't get down to other forms of music I feel sorry for you.
PS Trance is the garbage of EDM
PPS J/K cuz I know people will take that seriously. |

you were saying that the biggest clubs in ottawa have 300 capacity or so thus rendering the opportunity to make profits off smaller names hard or impossible.
So I answer back by asking you if you know any clubs in montreal who have only 500 to 700 capacity MAXIMUM, because I don't believe bigger clubs than that would want to book a dj for an attendance of 500 to 700.
The answer my friend, is that there's no clubs in that size intrested in EDM. And those who are, are too big, Circus is way too big, Aria is too big, Stereo has the right size but forget booking any trance there for obvious reasons and Gravity is dead.
So who else? Dome ? look what happened to Darude.

2) We were talking about the knowledge not the act. And yes its a waste of time to know who release what and when and with what remixes. Do you really think that people outside the buisness care about these things? Unless you're a geek, you shouldn't even bother with these details.
3a) once a month or so for a specific club is enough IMO, there's other genres and other clienteles to satisfy, no club wants to be labeled with a genre, unless you're called Stereo:rolleyes:
3b) bull:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: thats you're opinion and I don't respect it.
3c) I enjoy trance, and I don't care who leads it. Who CARES!?!
3d) maybe those other talents can't fill the big clubs we have in this fine city (see my previous post). Maybe you should open YOUR own club and book whoever you please. |
