also is there really a big difference between the 6800ultra and gt? i was under the impression that they were basically the same, but the ultra was just an overclocekd version of the gt for like 100 dollars mor or something.

I've bought three of the GA-7N400PRO2's and had ZERO problems with them.... You should go on NewEgg.com and check out the massive features they have onboard :)

I don't know a whole lot about the 6800's, I'm nowhere near being able to buy one, I'll research them when the time comes (at which point there will probably be something better :D )

i thought about the gigabyte but was really between the asus and msi for me becuase they had good reviews at the time. i ended up getting the msi becuase the design complemented the rest of my case and parts that i picked out. but yea i think most problems have been ironed out with the gigabyte by now

which MSI did you get? I've been considering MSI, ECS, and SolTek

k8n neo2

I'm looking at the K8N Neo2 Platinum, it's pretty damn spiffy :)

its a very nice board, few quirks
the .5 multipliers are illusory... just puts the htt higher to give the illusion of .5 multiplication. the beta bios is pretty good i am using 1.36... also some people had fitting issues with the layout. heres a picture to give you a better idea. you can see the orange sata ports 1 and 2 behind the chipset block. those are unlocked so not good for overclocking. 3&4 are better but they are located very close to the agp slot. the block mounts for the 6800gt almost doesnt fit but it works. also on the other side the fit between the agp and chipset blocks are very close. but it works and no complaints here.

its a good board, very fast and mine is very stable. the design makes sense to me but others prefer the old design better. whatever the case most people would agree that its a great board.
