hey guys, since this is pretty much a computer thread, i got a question. i was planning on buying myself a computer, but i got lucky and my boyfriend's boss gave us a brand new dell w/ a 17" flat screen monitor and a printer and everything:) but it's not like your usual computer tower. it's like a little mini one, and the cd rom drive pops out and it's like to the side. do you guys know what i'm talking about? it's just smaller. does that mean it's not as good as a regular computer? i want to know because i was planning on putting some programs on there like photoshop and reason...what do you guys think?

here's a link, i'm pretty sure that's what we have, it's just black and not silver.

http://www1.us.dell.com/content/pro...s=19&l=en&s=dhs

is that a decent system for just downloading tunes, surfing the web and using those programs i mentioned?

thanks for any info

it should be a perfectly fine system, try to find out the specifications of it, go to: start> my computer> right click> properties

tell us the specs, the processor and ram if possible, if its a celeron then its not the best.... but it still might be perfectly fine for you

Mine sux except the optical drives:

COMPAQ 5080US:
Intel Celeron at 800 MHz
20-GB Seagate U1 HDD
Plextor Premium 52x32x52x CD-RW (120 USD)
Pioneer DVR-108 (got it for 89.99 USD too!)
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card
Onboard video
PCTel Platinum v.90 56K modem

I bet our systems would run better in Linux because Windows in general is so damn bloated.
