1.) I never said anything about "legends" and "pioneers". I'm talking about skills as a DJ, you ignoramus. Get that through your thick skull.

2.) What are these pioneering efforts that make Sasha & Digweed legends? That they made the first mix CD? They're the joke.

Anyone that has ever heard Ferry spin knows that he is fully capable of throwing down a set that you wouldn't expect. He did that last Friday night. Anyone that has ever heard PvD spin live knows that he is also capable of the same thing. I think this line up is sick and I would attend in a second if I could. Ferry and PvD in the same night? Last time I saw that was at Ultra back in March. Maybe you don't like them...to each their own. But to question why PvD would want a DJ like Ferry to spin with him is just absurd. Ferry has amazing energy and a faithful following. You would have to be a fool to think that the two of them together wouldn't fill up any venue. :thepirate

Slow down there shoeshine, don't get ahead of yourself. Come back in a thread where your statement would make some sort of sense.

BUT, Ferry has never been here before...so most of the crowd dont know him...Ferry is a NoName in Germany, he isn't popular over here.

All the more reason for him to visit. It's just one night out of your life. You never know...you just might have a good time.

radagast is being an because I hurt his feelings when I told him his fav. DJ was and is considered a joke amongst all Chicago DJ's. I explained to him why Gay Boy Bill is (I even gave him proof) yet he still doesn't want to accept the truth and would rather continue along his retarded behavior on TA with me.

Get over it dude. Stop holding this grudge.

Sorry, I have no favorite DJ. In fact, you're the one who keeps bringing Bad Boy Bill up in every thread I post in. So go eat a cookie and sit in the corner. Any DJ who knows what they're talking about may not like BBB, but they respect him, as they should...since he could teach most of them how to use turntables.

Now answer my question. After you're done with that cookie of course. What are Sasha & Digweed's great legendary and pioneering achievements, aside from their FALSE claim that they made the first mix CD?

Didn't notice that it was in Ferry's mix, sorry bout that. That still doesn't change the fact that Paul has supported Ferry's "electro" productions.

I dont think its a case of PvD selling out at all - how can he be out to make the most money possible? when he books a dj like corsten who would cost MORE than one of these 'safe' techno djs that you are on about, yet still charge only 10 or 12 euro on the door! that argument makes no sense... its just a case of him wanting the club to be full, and in this day and age having someone like corsten is going to get that NOT a 'techno' dj - again you dont know what youre on about saying like that.

You didn't read my post. Paul is booking Ferry to make enough money, regardless of the fact that he thinks Ferry is (like you've been claiming). He disregards musical integrity in order to make enough of a profit. If that's not selling out I dunno what is.

i have to pull you up on this again.... how do you know what most german clubbers like?? sure there is a large techno following, but its still very much an underground thing in berlin. perhaps underground is the wrong word, but berlin techno clubs are not about big djs & big money... and this is sadly probably one of the reasons that that scene is in some difficulty. There is a definate slowdown there.

putting on a 'safe techno dj' will not get more people in the door than a pretty big name world 'superstar dj' like ferry corsten. Saying otherwise is really ignorant.

Techno is by far the most popular genre of EDM in Germany. Booking DJs of that genre logically will bring in more people to a club than booking Ferry, since like Shellsh0ck said, Ferry Corsten hardly has any name for himself in Germany whatsoever.

And btw, why do you always have to try to put me down as clueless?

because really, when you say things like - PvD is out to make the most profit with a corsten booking is really really clueless...

you say he could easily fill the venue with an alternative 'techno' dj - they would cost LESS to book. Ferry is the global trance dj - his booking fee will be MORE - yet the door price is always the same. So then, how can a guy be out to make a profit when hes paying MORE on the booking, and taking the same on the door, especially as the capacity of kesselhaus is a lot less than Casino. This makes no logical sense, maybe you arent clueless, but pretty slow if this is your thought process ^.

I honestly dont think that a techno dj would bring more people in anyway. Its all well and good to sit here with our image of what berlin / germany is all about (techno?) but the fact remains that djs like tiesto, corsten, armin are a global name. They DO bring in more people than any techno dj you can think of, even in berlin. That is why tiesto is booked to play LFA, and when he plays it is always busy. This is a fact, not my guess work or anything.

Not only does he attract a lot of people from berlin, but also from holland. Ferry will also bring a lot of people down from holland. So it is not 'safer' to put on a techno dj.

LOL.. youre saying Ferry will bring much more ppl than a local techno talent, and yet claims that PvD isnt doing this to make money.. then what is he doing it for ? just to have a packed night ? for ferry's fans ? such random guest dj to be booked when he gets no respect from the vandit's main man ? cmon girl u seem clueless too sometimes.. and more than that, crazy biased... if you were pvd's wife or some, i'll give you more credit, but stop tryin to analyze his intentions.

Read these two statements you made. They are contradictory. Ferry Corsten was booked to bring in more people than DJ XYZ , even though his style and sound is not akin to Paul Van Dyk. Than by definition Paul Van Dyk’s actions warrant the claim that he has indeed sold out for the sake of profit ( i.e. getting more people to show up to the show).

Even though ticket prices remain the same more people entering means more money. Booking a DJ like Ferry Corsten , I quote you, “Not only does he attract a lot of people from berlin, but also from holland. “

Booking a DJ for the sake of attendance and ticket sale is the definition of selling out for me.

P.S.
I could of have been really obnoxious in the method I chose to prove you wrong but I decided to be civil about it. Please learn from this approach because at times you can be very obnoxious to others.

Cheers
