Laushinameee,

1. How do you know Paul doesn't respect Ferry? Do you have any proof or rationale. Please explain.

2..Why do you think Ferry is ? Was he always ? Please explain in detail.

3..What other DJ's should be considered? Why.

I am not trying to prove a point but rather understand your point of view.

FYI

I don't like Ferry Corsten or that bull elctro-robotic sound he pushes. Ferry Costen is a popular name amongst trance Noobs but his sound is what the Brits refer to as 'Wank'

yeh he used to slate him all the time, not recently - but in 98/99 when ferry corsten / gouryella were all over the place...

In the book Adventures On The Wheels of Steel there is a whole chapter about PvD, were the author follows him around for a day. He has constant digs at corsten on that, and hes done it in a lot of interviews both directly & to his style of music...

imo corsten is because he took all the worst bits of the fallout of 'trance' in 97 - the more obvious things, and started to recycle them into really over the top tracks - and these tracks have become the definition of 'trance' for a whole generation now, which is sad.

nowadays he has lost the plot in a totally different way. Any dj who claims that things like 'right of way' and 'its time' are 'electro' needs shooting :haha: hes a joke now, probably more than he used to be.

dont understand your last question... do you mean considered for vandit nights?

You are very well read. ;) I'll have to check this book out again.

Yea. What is the idea or concept behind this? What is the sound or the DJ that best represents Vandit nights? You have shown to have a good taste and understanding for music so who would you pick to headline?

i dont think there is a particular idea or concept apart from this - its a night put on by Paul van Dyk and the guests are picked by him - therefore you would expect him to actually respect or like the people he books...

he likes Sasha, Nick Warren, Sander Kleinenberg, Ashley Casselle, Moguai, Jerry Bonham, Timo Maas etc etc

he does not like Tiesto & Ferry Corsten... yet he will book them for LFA & Vandit night, and there is only one reason why.

In 2002 there was a LFA which did not include tiesto, and it was pretty empty. In 2003 tiesto played and it sold out, in 2004 tiesto played, and it sold out... and so it will go on.

its pretty sad to see that PvD who used to be known for his sharp tongue & bitchy comments & pretty much unfounded hatred for 99% of other djs is now doing stuff like this - especially when he bangs on about 'honesty' in his music all the time.
Dave Piazza
Just for kicks.

Are these actions by PVD examples of a DJ 'selling out'?

What were your thoughts on Paul Van Dyk's work on the Zurdo soundtrack. Recycled trance or production wizard?
UWM

'popular techno djs' are not guaranteed to sell out a night in berlin really... Not unless its a full lineup like that. & having PvD on means it will not be.

It's a lot safer than booking Ferry Corsten, that's for sure. Looking at what most german clubbers like proves that.

again you doubt what i know is true, so im not sure where youre going with it.

The fact that Paul has supported Ferry Corsten by playing his tunes numerous times throws your "truth" into question. Paul's view of him just might have improved over the years.

If you are right as you claim however, it shows that Paul is a genuine sellout who gladly compromises on his tastes as long as it keeps the cashflow up.

I just put 'Zurdo' because he put 'Zordo' in his original post :D
