I don't think the parents should make the decision for the child no. Out of the fact that I wouldn't dare to make this decision about life or the death of my child. What about the situation that there will be a curing medicine available in a couple of years which helps the child to live normally? I think you don't want to confront parents with this.
And the big difference between older people and childs is that when you are able to survive the disease, you have a long life ahead of you; while this isn't so for people of 80 years or some kind of age. |
Point taken. I still don't agree though :) |

I haven't heard about it. If it's true, it would be in the papers or journal orso.. |

My friend presented me with this article yesterday.
All I have to say is, in the end it should be the parents' decision, it should be considered as an option (if it becomes legal of course) and not mandatory. And the examples they gave were OK, severe illness things.
But I think as long as it's an option that it will be OK, for me abortion is similar but you don't have to do it, it's available if you want to though.
That's just me though. |

For what its worth: "Must be terrible to be forced in the position where you'd have to make such a decision :(
Good to have the option.. I guess :( " |

It has been in the news around here, be it a month or two ago perhaps, not very recent. No real big deal, but there was some fuss about it because the Vatican / the Pope supposedly called the doctors that defined these guidelines "Nazis". Ring a bell perhaps? |

It's murder, plain and simple.
I thought the Dutch resisted the Nazis? Why adopt their policies?
Today it's "sick babies" tommorow it's "undesireables."
Read the history of eugenics and how it led to the Holocaust. |
