Reading the well thought-out and substantiated arguments here, I can't help but think:

Honestly, who care what you think?! :haha:

But why? Here's a model of the thread:

- DJ X sucks
- He doesn't. You suck and your favorite DJ Y sucks!
- DJ Y rules! DJ X and DJ Z suck on the other hand!
- DJ Z is the suckiest. Well, almost, DJ ZZ, sucks even more!

Not a shread of rhyme or reason to substantiate these opinions. Why would one care about them?

Dunno, I was just answering your question. For rationalization, youll have to check with the original poster.

Ive tried to keep my comments (or most of them) in this thread intelligent.

Hey, dude, don't take this the wrong way. I am not trying to attack you personally; rather, I am commenting in general on the substance of the thread (or lack thereof for that matter)

i could've sworn all these DJ's being bashed were like the 'in' thing a couple months ago.

Besides with all the he's doing its probable that he would up now and then but to say "he can barely stick two records together" or whatever your comment was is just plain retarded. In fact, tell me a set in which hes ed up a transition more than once if any.
Yeah he might not be the best yet, give him time hes only 25 years old and is already owning every other DJ out there.

ive seen him 'live' plenty of times. And every time it takes him about 5 mixes to actually get into his set. He is obviously another one of these djs who is totally fine with a good set up, but any little problem with the sound and he goes to . At creamfields in 2003, far from 'scratching wow man' he was struggling to actually beat match ANY records ALL the way through his set. He cleared the whole tent after timo maas had been pretty good.

Look at his GTDJ mix cd as well :haha: no scratching on that and the mixing is ing atrocious - and thats a studio cd.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm fine with people disliking DJs just because of personal opinion, but this is just totally incorrect.

Mixing one track into another is something that anybody can do (just like PvD ;)). Yet doing live mash-ups, looping, scratching, almost spot-on beatmatching, adding effects, etc. while making it sound damn-good is something that takes a lot more skill than what your average DJ has. Zabiela is allowed one or two -ups here and there, because one rarely ever gets the chance to see that happen.

see above. Ive seen zabiela a) not even attempting any trickery, and b) ing up one mix after the other for about an hour.

People are blinded to his actual ability because of his 'wow man crazy tricks'. And because of that you are all fools.

congratulations on being a total idiot.

a) PvD produced for an angel in 1994.

b) he doesnt 'dj with a laptop' - he uses a laptop as a digital record back. He mixes with 2 turntables same as everyone else. If you need to know more about final scratch go to their website.

until you have read and understood how the system works then there isnt much point in you opening your mouth.

cant think of anything else worthwhile that PvD has done? Visions OF Shiva - How Much Can You Take? Avenue? Flaming June? Love Stimulation, the list goes on. He was part of the MFS team who practically 'invented' trance music as you know it today. The thing is, like ive said, they were making it in 1992 when none of you cared, and the sound hasnt moved on since everyone started ripping them off in the mid to late 90's.

Interesting opinions there Laush, well, if thats the way you see it then im sorry for your lack of talent appreciation. Which dosen't really suprise me comming from a PvD fan. Tell me, do you belive Paul Van Dyk is better than James Zabiela when it comes to spinning?

what sort of a stupid question is that? what does 'spinning' mean? If you want to put something positive across about zabiela then go ahead, but if your only defense of him is a negative about some other dj then that is pathetic and irrelevant. Its not my fault if youre an idiot and you need to do this. Just leave the irrelevance alone.
