this thread is priceless, what utter utter bollocks. Lets slag some of the most talented electronic musicians and DJs because they're sucsessful. Ferry corsten sucks, lol what a joke. |
Lets not jump to conclusions on this guy. Ferry does have some redeeming qualities as a DJ.
So, fridaypassion, what is it about Ferry Corsten's DJing style that you really like? Remember, opinions without anything to back them up are wasted posts :) |

Agreed definitely with Christopher Lawrence, but what's the reason behind Desyn Masiello? He's a hell of a lot better than Probspot, Markus, and Perry O'Neil, who play nothing but "diet-cola" wannabe progressive. Take a listen to his new Bedrock cd. |
the reason why I think Desyn is overated is pretty much the same as Sander. These guys play the same setlist for 6 months straight. The only reason its not widely known is because their sets are never recorded and shared. I have heard Desyn twice since his Kiss sets aired, and he is still playing the same thing almost in the same order. If Armin and the other guys we hear regularly on shows were to only to record a set every six months, everyone here would be singing their praises. But since we hear them week in and week out, people take them for granted. |

I think pvd is overated, He only produced the right track at the right time (For an angel) and after that I cannot think of one note worty thing he has done, and he dj's with a laptop that to me is like going to see a live band and they lipsync.
Tiesto is overated, I can't see what the fuss is about his productions, and who the hell needed that adagio for strings remix?
It seems to me though that the top dj's like pvd and tiesto and ferry program their sets, I understand that they have an obligation to play some signature tracks, but does the whole set have to be signature? |

lol talk about clueless, have you ever seen him live? By your responses im assuming you haven't so you obviously dont have the slightest idea about what you are saying. Besides with all the he's doing its probable that he would up now and then but to say "he can barely stick two records together" or whatever your comment was is just plain retarded. In fact, tell me a set in which hes ed up a transition more than once if any.
Yeah he might not be the best yet, give him time hes only 25 years old and is already owning every other DJ out there. |

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm fine with people disliking DJs just because of personal opinion, but this is just totally incorrect.
Mixing one track into another is something that anybody can do (just like PvD ;)). Yet doing live mash-ups, looping, scratching, almost spot-on beatmatching, adding effects, etc. while making it sound damn-good is something that takes a lot more skill than what your average DJ has. Zabiela is allowed one or two -ups here and there, because one rarely ever gets the chance to see that happen. |
