ONLY TWO:
Paul Van Dyk - over rated big time!
Tiesto - overrated, but at least he releases good stuff, and does the great show, but still,
and one more
Zabiela - for "superb" scratching...
MARKUS IS NOT OVER-RATED, HE IS A GOOD DJ AND PRODUCER |

Anyone who is rated as being "better" than anyone else.
Better is a matter of subjective orgnaization (ranking) thus whats rated higher for you might not be the same for everyone else.
All music is culturally valid, and, thus, all is as good as all others.
(PS, haha to you people who say schulz isnt over rated :p ) |

Overated
Markus

Tall Paul (probably the top of my list)
Underated
Kitaro (not a dj but excellent producer and artist and not many artists have won a grammy and a golden globe)
Darren Emerson

Ok seriously, even if I didn't have my issues with Markus I would still think he's over-rated. A DJ that plays the same types of tunes over and over is boring. Progressive music is much more than bleeps and beaps over a trancy bassline. Maybe with time you will understand where I'm coming from. I once thought Armin & Markus were good but than as I started to listen to more and more music, I than realized they were .
The closer you follow dance music the less you are likely to cling onto a particular DJ or sound. You, like the music, become ever changing.
Remeber that change is what gives dance music its beauty. Embrace this philosophy and you will never have your heart broken when your favorite DJ or artists disappear, which they will eventually. |
