seriously anyone who is embarrased to be a dj wtf im proud that im a dj and a producer and i strive to be the best i can publically and privatly.
i could give a damn what people thought of me if they thought this was a bad decision, its my choice and i love doing it. |

agreeded, his team of sound engineers create the songs he "hums" and his pr is just insane allowing him to appear to the masses as "THE MAN, THE MYTH" or whatever the hell his MC calls him...
but heck id still like to shake his hand, he WAS ONCE a great amazing dj who produced on his own.... (long ago) |

Tiesto still has the skill, there's no doubt about it -- he had a couple pretty nice mixes in TIC 1... but he just gets so lazy sometimes. He's let his reputation surpass his own greatness, and that's a real shame.
Its like Billy Idol (pardon the intended pun). He used to be good (in some people's opinions -- not mine :stongue:), but now he's just washed up rock star who isn't nearly as good anymore and is selling tickets based off of his reputation from ten years ago.
Its a long way down from the top, and Tiesto's just beginning his slide. |

First of all, if you consider sasha, bt, and zabiela musicians. You have to consider tiesto a musician as well. He does the same thing as them, just not as well.
I personally dont consider djs musicians.
But how you can say that james zabiela is a musician while tiesto is not is beyond me.
James zabiela is a better dj than tiesto period.
What makes him a musician and tiesto not? Tiesto may not use gimmicky effects units as well, or as often as james zabiela. But what he lacks in djing gimmicks he makes up for in productions.
That being said, i still worship zabiela, and think nothing of tiesto. |

Zabiela is creative at the decks, you should know why. Tiesto just does the in-and-out ordinary trance mixing. And he does it with the same tracks that have been hammered by every other sucky trance DJ. Very creative, eh. :haha: |

He still mixes though.
Someone who plays the cello poorly is still a musician. You dont have yoyo ma to be a musician. Also, like i've said I love Zabiela, but he isnt as much of a new creative prodigy as most people say he is. Most of the "creative" things he does have been around for quite a while, and have been performed by other people. Its just that most people are too narrow minded to see it until a dj makes it to the EDM top50 doing it.
And contrary to what you may beleive, Tiesto plays just as strong of a roll in his productions as most other big name producers do. |
