If you want the free enterprise then, get the f^ck outta my country and go over there and pay for your mothaf^ckin med care instead of leeching off us. |
Haha, there you go.
As soon as someone explains the actual logic behind something you don't personally like, you respond by going off on a rant about greedy corporations and whatever the else you hate.
God, Leftists are like 6-year-old children. I want a doctor! I want money! I want transportation! I want someone to wipe my ass for me every time I go to the bathroom! Everything should be free or cheap!!
Don't you people realize that someone has to create these things? How would you like it if you built a highway and ranting idiots stepped up and said that even though it's your property, you have to let people use it free or cheap? Oh here you go, take my profits, I don't need them! I'm doing it all out of the GOODNESS OF MY ING HEART! |

Somebody out west once was making fun of us. They said they are used to getting a foot of snow without even so much as batting an eye but when yonge st gets 3 inches of snow its national news and they call in the army.

Harris may have sold it but Mcguinty is breaking yet another promise by doing nothing about it.
Im still waiting for my car insurance to go down as well... HA! |

PROVE IT, don't just throw any old at me and expect me to believe it!
Oh right, because everyone knows that the most reliable source of information is A MASSIVE ING CONGLOMERATE OF LABOUR UNIONS.
Let's read some of what they have to say:
| quote: | | Recently, the company jacked up tolls by as much as 200% at peak hours. Now, an arbitrator has ruled that the contract signed with 407 ETR by the Harris government was so airtight the company has every right to do so, and the public be damned. |
Oh dear! They jacked up their rates and an arbitrator said they had the legal right to do it! HOW DARE THEY! How dare they let a corporation control the price that they sell their services for! HOW DARE THEY TRY TO MAKE A PROFIT!!!
Lame, incredibly lame. You guys are in dire need of a 10th-grade economics course. |

It's a ing toll highway you idiot, they can charge whatever the hell they want. I can't believe you honestly think that people who don't pay their bills should get off scot-free. If you don't want to pay then DON'T ING DRIVE ON IT!
Just because you're used to driving on free roads does not mean that private enterprises who legally own those roads have to let you use them for free. Go to New York - half the roads there are toll roads, it's ridiculous.
I don't consider it a Harris "-up", I consider it just one of many smart moves made by his government. The 407 is great! Whenever I'm trying to get somewhere up north, that's WAY better than the 401 or the city roads.
|
Exactly!
Highway 7 runs right next to it all the way along and it's free. |

Did they mention all the Liberal broken promises that have been broken regarding the 407? probably not because im sure 50 years from now everyone will still be blaming Harris for their cancer or heart problems or stubbed toes. |

I was talking about his broken promise to reduce 407 rates and his broken promise about car insurance (somewhat related)
Mcguinty is from a worse trough because at least Harris told you pretty much what he was going to do. He cut the fat and lowered taxes. Mcguinty cuts and cuts but then raises taxes leaving me wonder as to where the excess money is actually going? |

Ya know what? If you guys were talking about art, fashion, sports, fishing, farming, gardening, architecture or construction, I would keep my mouth shut, because I don't know a damn thing about those topics.
When it comes to economics, I happen to know my .
Why exactly should I be "humble" when people are talking smack to me about topics I know more about than they do? There's a difference between hubris and knowing one's own strengths and weaknesses. |

Message to DigiNut and JayX1
Neither of you are Democratic. You are both Capitalists.
McGuinty has his hands tied and he's trying to resolve the problem as best he can. Which is lot more I can say for the Capitalistic ideals that you two show. If your even remotely interested in knowing the truth then you should do your own search on the internet and see how Harris tied McGuinty's hands in a bureaucratic law that can't be reversed.
As for your insurance.........well then if you don't like it move to the USA and pay those prices.
Regardless of who is in power and who is governing, with the amount of taxes that we pay (and you can't say that the govt. has not made money on it, especially with the immigrants and new businesses that made Canada a boom promise land) considering this, we should have more roads and hospitals, schools, more public service and yet, every govt. has promised and failed to give this.
People like me are neither left or right. Ppl like me want to keep Canada Independant and free from the grasps of the American capitalists. We want to preserve our rights and grow, without some ahole having some self interest.
That was not what Canada was about.
As far as I'm concerned, if your against preserving the Canadian way, then your part of the problem and an Anti-Canadian.
DigiNut.......mostly I got upset when you called RobbyG an idiot. That was rude and disrespectful. He has as much right to his opinion as you and I have. What you did wasn't right and you owe him an apology! If you don't give it, then you don't deserve any respect by anyone from this board.
As for your comment about this company having the right to demand restitution for non payment of a bill.........did u ever even give one thought to the fact that our government is us. That's money coming out of our pocket. WTF? Don't u get it?????
Jayx1 whatever your reasons are....they are just wrong and you need to think about them and realize it...not just for you...but so that your business will succeed from it too. Complaining isn't the solution. Sometimes you have to have some tolerance and not judge things as black and white. |

Canadian way? Anti-Canadian?
What kind of jingoistic diatribe is this? Are you the Canadian George Bush?
Sorry but my canada does not included bloated taxes, government waste, broken promises and massive debt.
And for the record, Harris did not tie McSquinty's hands because the first act of parliament was to reverse the Tax Payer Protection Act, something Mcguinty promised not to do. (yet another promise broken)
Dont give me this "they didnt know what they were getting into" crap because they knew.
Just give me a government that will respect my rights to live as a citizen, not waste my money and keep its promises. Thats all i ask. Harris wasnt perfect but at least you knew what you were getting. He cut services but then paid down the debt. I wish we could be in the same position as Alberta because the conservatives there have paid off the debt entirly and have freed up all kinds of funds to finance a whole wack of social services that we in Ontario cant afford. And please dont tell me that its because of oil because you know damned well that the Lieberals here would only waste that money if they had it. |
