When trance moved into progressive I was there enjoying the new sound. Lots of people stayed behind.
Alas lots of people get imprinted. Their minds can't open to the new.
Now trance is moving into what I call "Beautiful Music" or BM for short.
Some think they are geniuses for labelling it McProg (i'm pretty sure Douglas Coupland came up with the term McJobs 15+ years ago, but hey reuse a 15 year old term if that makes ya happy)
My mind can't be imprinted luckily. It's always open to beauty.
Probspot has nothing to do with his baseline. Just like in a rock band the drummer fades to the background, creating the arena in which the rest of the song exists, so too with Probspot's use of his baseline. Its merely an arena in which his melodies dance. And they dance I assure you.
All you haters.. just think of all the people you left behind when you embraced Progressive... all those people who missed out and continue to miss out. Your being left behind this time. The world moves on... and some are always left behind. This time its your turn.
For the rest of us, we will be enjoying some amazingly dreamy melodies. |

This is about pushing an artistic future, not denying one. |

Well, progressive trance did, but I don't think that's what Subey is referring to (probably the prog wars about two years ago). |

there is only two words to describe this thread: Another Flamewar
Seriously why must ppl take almost any thread about any topic and go on 9000 tangents about how they hate the scene/mcprog/armin/markus/gdjb/asot/etc/etc
Back to REAL topic in this thread.
I personally love the snappy kicks, the nice happy basslines and interesting melodies that are the trademark of probspot's sound.
Yeah he reuses some of the same patches/samples in some tunes, but honestly 90% of producers do, so get over it.
They arent the most technically layed out masterpieces, but they are good tunes that put people in good happy moods. :) |

i cant think of anything bad to say about rico's tunes. he did a great job on "my prayer". a little faster and trancier than his usual, and yes, it still sounds like him, but with dauby's lovely vox over top. but i think you all may have some surprises in store when his album comes out. idk, albums usually let an artist stretch out a bit more... i think he is good and has shown enormous potential...

| His remix of My Prayer is quite different to anything he's done previously I feel. |
