first i went to beba lounge where dj mute was spinnin some dirty, house and like always he delivered, it was fun so much that i didnt wanted to leave. but since i was there with a group of some 10-15 friends and we had so much to drink (wow), around 2-2:30 almost everybody was exausted (read drunk as a skunk) so we were voting on what should we do next. 5 minutes later 3 cars went back to KW and me, one guy and 2 girs went to guv (totally unplanned).

while waiting to leave my jacket i saw unreal papa and his better half and like always when we get together lots of smiles and hugs, they know how much i love and respect them but i just wanna mention it again just so everybodu knows that. most pleasant people on the face of the earth, everytime we get together it's blast, i love you guys.

while on our way to guv we saw tha broad and like always when i see her, same thing, beauty in motion. i dont know you that good but everytime i see you you are very nice, always bustin a move with a big ass grin on your face and cause of your positivness i really think highly of you. always a pleasure ;)

i saw neeta in guv, whan can i say, she's one of the nicest people on the planet, there was lots of huggin on that stage :)

i saw my man desidel walking by, dude sometimes soon we gotta meet for drinks before party cause everytime i try to have a converstation with you my hearing is seriously impared :). good to see you bro.

and then there was serbian-croatian connection :D
i saw around 40 people that i know, and while i was chillin in the kh they introduced me to at least 100 more of my peoples, and lemme tell you, i fel in love at lesat 5 times in one hour, there was some serious yugo hotness in the house (GODDAMN).

and then the music:

-scumfrog : he's my boy, guy is really talented but last night i found him going more towards his dark side, and it was ok, but it was not special like usual. imo scumfrog is all about drums and sultry female vocals and making people feeling all hot and bothered ;) and last night he was lacking that, but again he was good (this is not criticism, i just like it when he does his thing like in boa, and the girls are screaming theirs panties off and grinding and.... u get the picture)

-everybody in kh : i was there around 3-ish so i missed deko-ze and addy, and honestly nobody there did anything for me. trance doesnt do for me, only trance that is worth listening to is armin (IMO, dont flame). I.M. like usual brought out load of guys waving flags, and its all good i really dont hae a problem with that but cmon guys, bring some girls with you :)

-drink (was it manzone and strong or ...????) : dirty, nasty, bumpy, can-i-look-any-hotter-shaking-my-ass(reffering to all them hot girls) house, ME LIKED very, very much :D

so all in all, meh, nothing special, im sure trance lovers had a blast and that's super :)

BUT there was one thing, and im glad that i went there last night. when maxpain said that guv started listening to complaints about overcrowding i tought he was just yapping, and now i stand corrected. i'm really hard on guv cause of "sardineness", but last night was really like before. it was packed, no doubt, but it was pleasant. there was room do dance, to move around, you could get to washroom in a matter of minutes. good job on guv's behalf, now keep it up :)

preach on brother.

i really loved being in the booth for Drugs and Techno.

Mark Oliver was loving it.

so very true. Iza and I had many conversations about this one. People now-a-days expect rabbits to be pulled out of DJ's asses...

Yea man, NOTHING is worse than you having to go to the washroom, but you're uber-ass reluctant to leave your spot a) bc you may never get it back, b) bc you KNOW itll take you n 10 minutes jus to teach the washroom <--- god is that ever annoying when it happens and c) its really is a pain in the ass navigating the crowds... so much easier to just hold it in as long as u can and just dance in your spot for as long as possible! :)

Speaking of navigating crowds, man, does the n ORange Room jsut KILL (read : "Destroy!") anyone else's vibe and feel that they've built up over the night...

i love going back and forth, but ill have this awesome high from being in KH... ill have ot travel thru the Oranage ROom :( and then when I get to guv, my mood is shot... not to mention how packed it is... you it takes FOREVER to get thru there.... if i had to complain about anything , orange room would be it... but the n event was sick, not not even a minor complaint like that could dampen the night!

n AMAZING party with AMAZING peps! So glad to have met some more of you TAs!!:happy2:

It's how the Israeli's carry themselves with theirs thats the problem (making sure to jump on the stage with 10-20 people waving it in front of the act on at the time, even worse when its the act b4 or after the Israeli act, or the incessant waving of the flag near the front of the crowd, blocking people's views).

WERD,they were just annoying,I have no problem with people bringing flags, but dont act like a fackin idiot.

p.s. I have nothing against people with any flags but when you become stupid with it like what we had last night then yes I do have a problem with you.

last night it took me about 3-4 minutes to get from that stage in guv to washroom.

my last time in guv before that, it took me (without bull) 15 minutes at least, and then 10 minutes wait.

things look much better now.

do you even listen to the scenario i mentioned? yes, seeing dumonde and scumfrog for $20 bucks is in awesome. but waiting in line for an hour (because of the pretenious bull usually seen outside the drink entrance) really starts things off on a sour note. And i'm surprised i'm the only one who commented on this, but am i seriously the only person who found the sound system in Kool Haus sucked ??? it sounded so airy and all the frequencies were blending together making a horrible sound becuase the bass was dominating everything. I'm usually the last person to complain about a sound system, but it was very hard for me to get into dumonde's set because of this (for some reason, i didn't find it as bad when dave ralph was on).

Got in at 11:20. KH was decorated nicely!! Spent the next couple hours running around the club, saying hi to everyone, meeting new faces and seeing some old ones. There were lots of people I saw whom I didn't get over to say hi to (the majority of the KW crowd) and for that I apologize. Up til about 3am, the whole night is a quick blur.

Went to the Guv to check out some MO- really enjoyed that Pink Floyd track! Was enjoying the music on this side more than the KH.

Was really surprized to hear Dave Ralph starting off with some breaks- almost didn't think it was him that was playing. Midway tho, he started spinning the style I expected him to play, and was enjoying it better than the breaks.

IM came on, heard the 1st few tracks, but was not interested- seen them a few times already, and the Israeli crowd turned me off from even watching them. 3am was approaching quickly, so off to the Guv we went.

There was a slight delay in getting Scumfrog set up- he didn't start til 3:20. They even had to remove the platform in the DJ booth, so Jesse wouldn't have to hunch over as much. LOL! Stayed up there for the 1st couple hours, taking pics, but finally decided it was time to go ENJOY the music from the dance floor. As soon as I made it down & met up w/my friend Brendan, the song I've been waiting for almost a year to hear on a big system actually came on....

"That's the Way I Like It"- Offer Nissim feat. Maya
If any of you met my (very cute) friend Adili last night, that song is actually produced by her brother (Yinon Yahel). Last time Jesse was here, I gave him a CD of some of their tracks, but they had a more 'circuit house' sound to them. He was playing a new version I hadn't heard (Yinon's own, unreleased version), only to find out this was the track Yinon emailed to him just yesterday (after asking me for his address). Turns out Jesse got it just b4 he was leaving for the airport, decided to burn a copy for the hell of it, gave it a listen to when he got to his hotel, liked it, and played it!
For this, Jesse, I am eternally greatful!!!

A couple tracks later, he played Sean Miller's mix of "Stereo".

Other tracks I could ID:
Scumfrog- Simmer
Scumfrog- Come On
Scumfrog & Cevin Fisher- Let The Sun Shine
Mylo- In My Arms
Duran Duran- Sunrise
Sander Kleinenberg- The Fruit (crazy hard mix- last song of the night)
some great new Scumfrog tunes... test runs

I never made it back over to the KH so I didn't see 1 second of DuMonde. Stayed til the end, and shut the Guv down at 8am. I can't believe I lasted that long, sober. That renews my faith in myself- I was beginning to think I was getting old. I guess it just takes the right music to keep me going. ;)

Waiting in line for an hour is a typical clubbing experience. Especially for huuuuge events.

Just a few quick comments here.

Sets:

Addy & Deko-Ze: I missed Dekoze, but Addy's was the only good set I've heard so far from him, and it was a VERY good warmup. I'm definitely going to give him another chance after that - fine work.

Dave Ralph: BORED ME TO TEARS. I think he threw two or three decent tracks for his opening, and the rest of the set proceeded to just kill my buzz completely. He played a bunch of flat, soulless prog and some very mediocre breaks tunes & remixes. Honestly, all I could hear throughought his entire set was the kicks, hi-hats, and what might as well have been white noise in between. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but I've just never had my energy sucked away so fast before.

Infected Mushroom: Excellent performance! It was probably not quite as energetic as the last time they performed in Kool Haus, but they seemed to know the sound system better this time, as it was all very crisp and clean sounding. They dropped several tracks from Converting Vegetarians, including some "harder" remixes of the chillout tunes on CD 2. Sorry, I don't have specific IDs, but overall I found it a very enjoyable set showing plenty of creativity.

Dumonde: Not bad, but nowhere near as good as their Viva set last year. They played more older tunes than I expected and not a whole lot of new or unknown tunes. I'd say their set was leaning more toward the epic trance side than the hardstyle side of the spectrum. Still a solid set though, lots of energy.

Scumfrog: Again, not a bad set, but I expected better from him. I notice he plays differently at Guv than at other clubs, and yesterday's set was far less interesting than even his last GUV appearance. I'm not a huge tribal/"DDTT" fan but I was surprised that he hardly played ANY tribal or even proper house tracks... it was very proggy and even flat at times, and thus a bit disappointing, but still worth hearing.

Club:

Crowd management: Since I always make a point of ragging on the Guv when they screw up, I ought to give credit where credit is due. Setting up the Kool Haus the way they did with the curtains blocking off the outer areas was a VERY, VERY good idea; it kept the areas relatively clear and made it very easy to get to the other side of the room. There was very little pushing and other irritations. First time in a while that I've been to the Guvernment complex and not felt like I was suffocating. And it was easy to find places to sit. Good job guys!

Guvernment main room was also a much smaller crowd than I was expecting... not sure if they limited the capacity last night or whether the night just attracted a smaller crowd than usual, but I actually went back and forth a few times from IM/Scumfrog/Dumonde and never really had to wait or push (except in the Orange Room from 1-2 am, which was still brutal, I really wish they'd put house or breaks in there and move the hip hop to somewhere else like the Drink). An unexpected and pleasant surprise.

--
Anyway, all in all it was a solid party, and despite my hesitations and restlessness during the early party hours, I'm glad I went. I got to see lots of people that I hadn't seen in a long time. And it was nice to finally meet some of the new faces - RobbyG, Spam, Vertigo, Karen, and probably a few that I've forgotten (it's been a long day). Thanks for coming out everyone!
