full review when i wake up/am at work but
sasha was awesome, tho it took him a while to warm up after james lavelle spun
err... james lavelle's stuff was interesting, but just as sasha was getting into his peak at the end of his first set, lavelle kinda made people confused on the floor with the stuff he opened with. and honestly, you can see quite a few groups of people leaving the floor :(
more tomorrow about wait, the sets themselves, etc. |

ill add a bit as you slumber :tongue2 ... AMAZING!!! i had never been to crobar before and i must say i couldn't be happier with the night... there was nothing but good vibes from everyone... all the people i talked to were awesome, even the staff was really nice, surprising for nyc.
the music rocked... my friend janelle and i didn't get in until about 2, but we totally closed the place down past seven. sasha's closing encore was awesome, whatever track it was, i dunno. after that, it was time for the long trek back to pennsyltucky, and here i be. freakin time for bed :D then work :mad: |

LOL. ferny.
i had an amazing time- i just spent all the time up on the balcony where it wasn't crowded (in the booths i guess) and i was floored by what lavelle was playing- at first i was like wtf?? but then i was like YEEAAAAAA!!!!
i thought that the sound system was way more cut out for the rock/break stuff that james was playing and sasha's set sounded terrible on the system- it could have been awesome but there was only highs and bass- no midrange.. plus, the guy that does the lights for crobar must have been ing SLEEPING cuz at the peak of sooo many songs, there was NO lights.. ie, right before the beautiful acoustic guitar refrain in "In A State".. nothing. i was like.. DAMN IT!!!! the impact could have been phenomenal with some strobes..something!
anyways, i would have stayed longer but i had a fit with the bf, so i had to fly outta there like a bat outta hell. too bad. :( |

this wasnt the best sasha night ive been to...it was ok, but nothing majorly spectacular...however, ive never seen him that energetic on stage ever...he played a lot of great tracks, but mostly during real dance time (6am on)...
as an opener, lavelle was fine, but he completely destroyed any sense of vibe with the bull he pulled in the middle of the night...what the flying was he doing with that rock music bull in the middle of sasha reaching peak hour?? sasha drops this bomb, then lavelle comes on and plays rock music and totally blew any chance of this being a special night...the U2 track was cool, and when he finally came to his senses and played in a state, he plays tracks that were a year old (i know this cuz my DJ friends actually told me he bought these vinyls last year) and then HE DOESNT ING MIX THEM!!! WHAT THE ???!!!
lavelle, you ed up majorly, you sorry son of a bitch...how in god's name they gave you not one, but TWO GU CD's is beyond me...stick to movie soundtracks you dumb ... |

ugh...don't talk about the line...
anyways, wasnt sure if the $20 g6actionlab guestlist would work but i decided to venture out anyway. met up with liz al and jenn to eat at a diner, then headed up to crobar -- got there 11pm and the bouncers were totally letting in random ppl as well as VIP in front of me, jenn, liz and albert...later i found out i got on the wrong line...the G6actionlab guestlist line was on the OTHER side -- it took me 30 mins just to get to the front to find that out...but sall good cuz i only paid $20 to get in..but since i wasnt on the guestlist line to begin with i didnt get VIP access (not that i give a i was just happy not to pay $35 :) )
But forget the craziness on the line...Crowd on the main floor was a bit unbearable, and i couldnt believe how MANY ppl were there that night. it was freakin crowded and we were being shoved left and right along with miss bliss, frost, trunks, and danax (it reminded me of PVD at NYE)...-- either by amorous couples dirtydancing in our face, ppl who were taking up madd room and jabbing us repeatedly, or being stared and leered at by fobs/guidos -- then would try to grind us. it was def getting tiring trying to fend off people the whole nite, well i know i was tired of it after awhile. not to mention the big ass balloons that were coming down from the ceiling...kept bopping us on the head :whip:
but other than that, i thought dj three and sasha spun an ill set...i was def enjoying it...and then james lavelles set was surprising. In A State was definitely a memorable moment, it was just so beautiful :D:D:D
we didnt take much pictures cuz of the crowd, and i couldnt get close enough to Sasha so here is just pictures of us four...the 2nd one was taken around 4am -- we were by the fire exits and sitting on top of a speaker (?)

def a great time guys...sooo glad i decided to come :D :D :D <3 |
