Actually, science merely BELIEVES and theorizes that it's hormones and genes, because they have actually not found any direct links. There is still so much about the human genome and hormonal interactions that we know nothing about.
Now on to the actual question. I gotta say that whatever kind of hate you've witnessed, through your comments, seems to have come from rednecks who actually fear being analy reamed. And for the most part, the masses do not accept it because it is ignorance. However, religion plays a major role as well. It's easy for you to say "f*** God", but you have no credibility to question the morals and ethics of those that have believed and followed them for thousands of years. Not saying it's right, I'm merely saying that your argument is a little too emotional and kind of stupid.
I have no problems with homosexuality. Be it a choice, a non-choice, or whatever, in the first world, in urbanized culture, we all should have the freedom to live our lives as we see fit.
Here's what I DON'T like. Homosexuality has become too much of a tool. Politicians use it any time they need to stir up a public reaction. People seem to fight for it using stupid arguments, and come accross as fighting for it just for the sake of fighting, not actually going and showing effort to have it become accepted. Further, corporate wise, I have encountered a few gays/lesbos (what's a correct term to cover the whole spectrum?) that I did NOT like. I do not advertise my sexuality. I do not make it a point for others to know ANY degree of my sexual preference, and choice of conduct, thus I want no others sharing any part of those experiences with me. I dislike the fact that they flaunt it. I hate the fact that because they are a minority, some (and I'm speaking from experience) will get jobs BECAUSE they're gay, not because they're qualified. I know that my reasons for dislike pertain to very specific individuals, and definitely not the whole demographic. But more and more I see it being pushed upon culture and society, pushed to a degree that defies the purposes of acception. Again, it is guaranteed to stir controversy, and I see it being spun and used for that purpose way too often for me to like it. Most people whom you can speak to about this will have very extremist views. That simply should not be the case. If it really isn't a big deal, then DON"T MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT. |

One of my best pals at school and university was gay, quite happy with it, I played guitar in a band with him for years, we talked about sex and that kind of thing quite openly, I knew he never fancied me and we were both totally cool with each others sexuality, but one new year's eve at this party we were both at, I was pissed out of my head walking round the house and walked in on him in the spare room bent over the dressing table and getting reamed up the ass by another guy ... try as I might I was really revolted by the whole thing, even now I just can't recall that image without being kind of squeamish. He never even saw me before I slammed the door again but I never could look at him the same way again :( I know my mind tells me I should really be open minded and not give a about that sort of thing, I really want to be more but my body just rebels against it, I'm sorry but YUUUKKK!!! |
upset it wasnt you?
Can never understand people who hate puffs. Seems a bit gay. |

I won't use the 'f' word. That's just gross, I rank it down there with that 'c' word. But seriously, I'm so utterly sick and tired of hearing "I hate ******s." All I have to say to that is, "Why?".
It's such a tired phrase too. Ignorant. Prejudice. Stupid.
Now, I'm not attacking anyone here. Not even those ignorant to post b.s. like that on this board. I'm attacking the idea, questioning its logic. For those of you who do hate homosexuals, I want you to ask yourself why you do. You'll come up blank, I hope. THere are no real reasons, just ignorance and fear. Do you guys think that all homosexuals are going to hit on you? Are you that full of yourself? Why would a gay spend time hitting on poor, insignigcant you? They don't, at least the majority of them.

i agree... imo it's just christian morals coming into play. most people think it's morally wrong to be homosexual, and christianity deems that "marriage is a union between a man and a woman." I disagree with homosexuality, but i wouldn't say that i hate them.

I ask you, are you racist? You'll say no, most likely. But you are, if you think that a homosexual/lesbian is any less of a person than you, and therefore earns your scorn or hatred. You are the lesser person. You deserve their hatred, and mine.

aren't we all at least a little ethnocentric? it's part of being human, i guess. we all try to deny it, but in one way or another we hold stereotypical ideals that could be considered racist. |

i don't come up blank when i describe why i don't like flaming fags.
because i'm not even a girly girl myself, so i can't tolerate extreme doses of estrogen from someone with a penis. i can't even tolerate it from someone with a vagina.
so there.
i don't care if ur gay, but quit lisping on purpose and swaying your neck around and throwing your hands in the air as you exaggerate some stupid story about your boyfriend or something... |
but i also agree with this also... one thing i can't stand- when a gay person has to ANNOUNCE TO EVERYONE that they're gay, be it intentionally or just throwing out the femmy lisp and the rainbow clothes. us heterosexuals don't have to scream "I'm straight! get used to it!" by the way we dress or act. see above picture |

This cannot be attributed solely to Christianity. Islam, Judism, and I believe Hinduism also have strong stances against homosexuality (If anyone believes I am incorrect about the Hindu stance on homosexuality please advise me of the same and why... it has been quite some time since I had a look at the vedics and cannot recall for certain).
There was a recent public opinion poll in Canada asking whether or not people considered homosexuality to be normal. Only 49% of Canadians stated that homosexuality was NOT normal. I felt so ashamed of my countrymen after hearing this... clearly it is not normal as the human reporductive system is not designed for homosexuality and it is certainly not the prevailing sexual orientation in our society (or any that I know of). I think people got "normal" and "acceptable" confused. |

that's what i'm saying. i can't even stand chicks that are loud and obnoxious and "girly", let alone guys who act like that. lol i dont like loud annoying and fake people. it really boils down to having such a put on persona...to me, it's fake. i like mellow cool people who know how to keep it real.
although i WAS really good friends with this flaming obnoxious gay guy named Tony when i worked at the restaurant. he cracked me up. but i made it very clear that i did not care to hear about his sex life. whenever i'd piss him off, he'd start being gross and i would punch him and he'd be like, "oh no u didn't u ing bitch" hahah he was so flaming but i loved him. he's the only flamer i liked.
i think what drew me to him, was that after only working there for 1 week, he bitched out this chick who was one of those, "i've been working here for 2 years, so i run around here" chicks and she always acted all bad ass. hahah within the first week, tony was like, "oh hell no, bitch don't be coming at me with that ing "
she went in the back and cried after he yelled at her! buahah it was great. |

Holy f***, finally SOMEONE says it. AMEN, I can COMPLETELY AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree that it is NOT "normal". Absolutely correct, many people confuse "acceptable" with "normal" for the sake of having one more argument of justification. |
