I know, this board's taste is sometimes alarming! Anything that's catchy or is interpretively "too commercial" is smeared as "cheese."
Face it, almost all trance is lyrically cheesy! |

Only 64 replies to this thread on the first day?
Back in the good ol days (i.e. twice a week, every week for the last 3 months) threads like this would get at least 100 of em on day 1.
Don't worry, I will monitor the situation closely. I have programmed a macro in excell which I use to perform trend analysis of this situation. If at any time one of these threads dips below 40 replies on its first day I will intervene on everyone's behalf.
In the meantime I would like to thank Ceberus (i.e. Ory, Ian and Cobalt) for its continued participation. Without its constant willingness to tag these threads with its likeness well I just can't imagine. No doubt it must drink a lot of coffee (feel free to substitue coffee with the diuretic of your choise) |

Yes, for 's sake. You really are slow. |
Judging from your sig, I hope you don't think I'm slow coz I havent disowned trance and let prog be my musical butt-plug.
Been there, listened to that, and actually got bored of most prog quicker than I did of generic trance, currently loving breaks and the few decent euphoric trance tracks about.
Not wanting to sink to your level, but then I guess this forum is the only place you get heard and as such force your opinions so harshly upon others.
Have a gold star for effort |

| I love 99% of the "cheesy" tracks people list here....why? oh wait, i know why......because they sound awesome! Haters of cheesy tracks are just that, haters, jealous of the success of some of the bigger artists who made it to where they are by having talent. Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold. All awesome but so many people consider them cheese. Hell, most people consider Darude cheese, but you know what? Back when Sandstorm came out, ALL of them were listening to it and loving it. Most people here need to shutup about "cheese". If someone loves a cheesy track, great! |

Oh off. Talent does not equal success, and success does not equal talent. Get that through your head. And I'm not jealous of anyone, I'm just annoyed at the fact that a dumbass like Armin van Buuren is "one of the world's best DJs". |

trance is showing all the classic symptoms of pop music! Fairly talentless people making it big, producers/labels putting out minimum-risk stuff, all the kiddies buy into it, while the band with the poetic lyrics, melodic guitar riffs, lays low trying to earn a buck playing local gigs (just an example). armin has no ing technical skills! pit him against any hiphop dj, a fair amount of techno djs, etc, and that little guy would fail miserably. being able to mix tracks, getting the newest tunes, and having a bunch of loyal, crazed fan-boys beat off thinking of you and your music, shouldnt, by all means ing shouldnt make you number one. armin and all his little friends (and all the other DJ's that fit this description, are just bedroom dj's who have made it big, you cant have 100,000 famous producers, they are just some people who are going to make it. Armin made it. doesnt mean he is a ing god. it means he has put out some decent tunes, and has a radio show. it means he is famous. now how the , should that entitle him to number one DJ, even if he was number 40, id still ing question this. |
