You've got to be ting me. America got involved in world war 2 because we were ing ATTACKED by the Empire of Japan. Germany declared war on US on December 10th. Also, the plan to attack New York didn't really come about until about 1943/1944 when the Russians started to turn the tide.
While Russia may have done most of the ground fighting, the American strategic bombing of Germany's industries and cities demoralized the German people and crushed their economy. Without the American (and British) bombing of Germany, Russia would likely have been steamrolled. Likewise, without Russia doing the fighting, Germany may have had a free reign to invade Britain and then possibly on to the USA. Oh boy, I seem to have gone a little off topic, no matter, my point is that if you're going to try and use facts to back up your America bashing, at least use factual information. |

There would be Americans, but, they just might have been called British Colonial Subjects. It's not like the French involvement in the American Revolution was preventing the extermination of the former British colonists. That's interesting, since the colonialists beat the living f*ck out of the British expeditionary Army and told King George to shove it up his ass while they established a new and free society. And a society which ultimately saved the annihilation of the British sovereignty during World War II as well.
Don't even go there with the French...

Beat the living out of the British Army? If we were winning so badly, why would we have asked France to intervene? France saved us in the Revolutionary war the same way we saved them in WW1, right as the was about to hit the fan, they/we sprung in and saved the day. |

I wouldn't say that. Look at Vietnam, even against a vastly superior army, with persistance and patience, they eventually overcame enormous odds. By the time France intervened in the Revolutionary war, Britain was already tiring of the revolution. Really, if the French wouldn't have intervened, the Brit's would probably have grown tired of the conflict and just gave up, it just would have taken longer. |

The Brits imposed a tax on tea on America before the Revolutionary War and got teabagged as a result. We saved their ass during WWII from being conquered by the German Reicht and becoming more Auschwitz fodder.
The French gave us some minimal aid during the Revolutionary War, but we paid them back during WWII after their cowardly Army cut and run by saving their sorry ass country, even though the people were complacent to live under German authoritarian rule.
