i don't feel like looking back and quoting people who asked what other sports the USA has started to give this context, but a very new sport thats gaining global recognition quite fast is ultimate frisbee
and i moved on to ultimate only after playing soccer for 8 years and i'm going to dare to say that ultimate's right up there as far as requiring great physical and mental toughness
its a non-contact sport and self officiated for the most part, so people tend to dismiss it, but its by far the most amazing sport i've ever both watched or taken part in (my high school team was national champions last year)

unfortunately, none of these are real great games
and one thing to keep in mind
when it comes to nationals etc in ultimate frisbee, the tournaments aren't spread out over a week or anything like most sports
even at the closest to pro we have, we'll have tourneys where the winners play 8 games, and they take place over at most 3 days (4 games one day, 3 the next, finals on the last day) |

what I don't understand is rugby, it has no rugs in it, nor bys, so it must suck if the name doesn't describe it.
and euro football is really boring to watch, for real, most of the pplayers are just walking along, then sometimes they kick a ball back n forth. I remember this experiment where they trained monkeys to play soccer and they beat a professional euro team, I forget which team, i think the UK team or from some other province.

and its understandable that most people don't get the strategy behind baseball, they need some sort of contact, or a bright shiny light to keep their attention.
i think we should change the title of this thread to 'make an ignorant insult at someone from another country'

Think whole thread is just a huge lack of understanding.
As for American Football, I just don't understand why you'd want to watch a sport where it's stopped most of the time (maybe explosive/very strategic?)?
I could go on to basicly anyother sport and slate it, it'd just show how little I know about that particular sport. |
