Liverpool 2-1 Juventus is not the end of world. Remember, Juve are KING of 1-0 wins, esp. at home.
My heart is so torn as I want both PSV and Lyon to win... And I don't know who to cheer for. :P |

They are the "dark horse" in the tourney...I'd love to see them go through!!! Michael Owen must be kicking himself now :p...but it's ok he's doing really good for himself :) |

What a luminous display of high-tempo football by LFC at the beginning of the first half. The rhythm predictably dwindled as the math progressed, which allowed Juve to settle and take control in the second half. It’s a realistic result considering Zlatan hit the post and Juve had a few other clear chances but you have to be gutted to see LFC concede such a weak goal that might be crucial in aggregate. It’s really infuriating to see world class football marked by such blatant blunders, with Dudek’s portfolio of famous gaffes Benites has quite a dilemma who to designate as the starting goalie. I would hate to see a 1-0 game in Turin (a very likely scenario) which would put Juve through because of such a cheap goal, but what can you do that’s football, not the first time nor the last time we’ll see mess-ups in such vital encounters. What a screamer from Garcia through, I’ve seem him score a few similar beauties in the EPL, he’s such a critical player in the squad, you won’t see him the whole game then it will take him only one occasion to set the stadium on fire. What an absolutely phenomenal goal. Overall I think LFC surprised many a neutral fan with an absolutely phenomenal display of electric and efficient football in the first half hour, it’s quite a shame that they lost the attacking dynamism as the match progressed.
Olympique Lyonnais – PSV is on at 00:00, it will surely be an exciting return leg in Eindhoven. I’m happy for Beasley the way he adjusted coming from MLS, it’s in the interest of the game on this side of the Atlantic that MLS players succeed at the highest level in Europe.
Chelsea – Bayern tomorrow, I predict a slightly surprising result. |

I forgot to mention the great vocal display of the Scousers, hat off to the Kop, that was an absolutely quintessential football atmosphere at Anfield today.

clarence seedorf, jaap stam & mark van bommel arnt half bad ... unless by stars u mean strikers;)
i never thought id see the day where id be cheering liverpool on but today just made me realize that i really do despise juventus that much ...liverpool played fantastic football in the first half and both goals were fantastic strikes ... 2nd half was a bit dogdy for the kops and I feel for scotty carson ... the lad made some good saves in the first half and should have realized that cannavaros header packed a mean spin ... the referre seemed a little partial towards juve and didnt give liverpool deserved free kicks when players especially finnan were being blatantly knocked down near the penalty area ... its kinda hard to see liverpool going thorough now given juventus' notorious record of 1-0 victories but should they score the first goal at the del appi .. juventus are fuct because it means they will have to attack which means actually send players forward
im happy for psv and it would be nice to see them go through to the semi finals although lyon arnt pushovers away from home
big games tomorrow ... bayern vs chelsea (hate both of em but wanna see chelsea go thorough simply cuz they an english club)
ac milan vs inter (id love to see inter lift the trophy now that Man U and Madrid are out but its not going to be easy to beat AC Milan especially with Adriano out). |
