im sure our opinions are that your a bit of a twat, who thinks listening to techno makes him smarter or betetr than everyone because his music is more underground... a bit like a lot of twats who voted digweed no.1 in the top 100 DJs. sad sad man... |

I am free to give my opinion, and if people do not agree with my opinion, they have to tell me why they think I am wrong.. with arguements that is, and not with balls of edam. :rolleyes:

Personally I love uplifting trance but I also like progressive to a point. I'm not taking anyone's side because I'm not 100% sure where uplifting trance is heading.

well we havent heard anything from gouryella or rank 1 in a long time, so they aren't in 2001.
i dont even like rank 1's prodcutions, besides their remix of superstring, which is pretty good.
there is almost NO line between uplifting and cheese now, unfortunately. every new track released is sounding the same.... INCLUDING dumonde, minimalistix, etc.
what we DO need, and will get hopefully, are new producers on the scene.
and verminator you cant compare trance producers w/ techno producers.. they're soo different no one on this board would ever call techno 'cheese' because we simply dont know what that would BE |

Well, I am not looking at it from the techno perspective. Allthough my sig says that I love techno it doesn't mean that I am constantly comparing trance to techno. :)
I don't think the whole trance-scene is cheezy, I do like progressive trance/house!! The progressive trance scene knows a lot of good producers/djs (Nick Warren, Deep Dish, X-press 2, Danny Howells, Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg etc etc etc etc) and the music means quality.
Uplifting trance on the other hand is IMO (just like Patticus said) completely cheeze!! Why do you think producers/djs like Tiesto & PVD are moving away from the Uplifting sound? Didn't they use to be the 2 Gods of Uplifting Trance?
Uplifting Trance has been exhausted... and no Rank 1 (witnessed a gig of Piet Bervoets, the guy from Rank 1, 2 weeks ago and it was HORRIBLE) is gonna change that.
