Ishkur,

So what is progressive? What is your take on that genre?

Thanks

I see. So what happened with Sasha & Digweed at the end of the nineties? Because that sure isn't progressive trance the way you're describing it.

Just wondering. Your description of the evolution of trance makes sense, I'd just use different terms.

One last thing Ishkur....

The orginal thread starter asked why you used BT - Flaming June to describe Progressive. why?

It exists.

"Progressive" is an incredibly retarded name for it, though.

AlphaStarred
here, i've an example i can employ from a compilation i own, comprising both Progressive House and Progressive Trance.

http://www.discogs.com/release/129976

1st cd is prog. house whilst the 2nd is prog. trance.

not sure if it's conducive to any questions here, but i've class presently and thought i may as well post something or other...

Ishkur's definition of progressive trance seems to be what we call trance today (not epic trance though). Our (atleast my) definition of progressive trance is what happened after trance got big, when it wanted to be underground again; the type of music Sasha used on his Global Underground compilations.

Oh well, I'm not getting into this.
RebeL9
good examples of progtrance:

Jimpy feat. Sarah - Talkin (Tarantella vs Redanka remix)
Orbital - Nothing Left (Breeder remix)
Airwave - Escape From Nowhere
Bunker - Descent
Oliver Lieb - Lightspeed
Ivan - Red Star
Redd
Is there a way to just enjoy the music and not being labeled as a trancecracker trying to feel important? Am I automatically recruited to the "masses" that Ishkur is flaming, because I listen to what is called progressive house and progressive trance?

Excuse me, but off :D

RIPassion
Well, the last 4 pages of you guys' posts has defended Ishkur's saying (not verbatim) "No one even knows what the hell progressive means anymore."
