I think you hit it on the head. The promoters / owners may not have enough confidence in the DJ to get the job done. So, in order to compensate, they feel the need to MC to hype up the crowd. I happened to sit with that same guy at a panel during the WMC. From his standpoint, they’ve put in A SH*TLOAD of money into Ultra and the steaks are very high. Also, the crowd is more diverse now. There are a lot of “fair weather” trance and EDM fans attending who may need to be “encouraged” to jump up and down when appropriate :)
I heard nothing from Buster this year so I can't really complain about him. As far as another petition goes, I realize it would be short sighted on my part to make an enemy out of Buster or the guy who MC'ed the main stage this year who happens to be one of the co-producers of Ultra.
I might want Buster to play one of my Videos on A3 some day or do something @ Ultra. So I’m not going to shoot myself in the foot any further than I already have :eek: :nervous: |
I hear ya. Well, co-producer or not, if they don't have confidence in Ferry, Tiësto, or PVD, then these guys got issues. This ruined the Ferry set and my video for Force of Gravity (Tiësto remix.) I was yelling "STFU!" during Tiësto's set, I really wasn't having it with his dumb ass talking over MY SONG. |

I would imagine that would not have happened in a venue such as Space. I'll probably go to Space next year for the major acts and catch all of the others @ Ultra during the day. |

Buster ran his mouth at Space during Tiësto's set at Magik Music Nite. I was 100% sober so I remember it clear as day. That was another downfall of the night, besides the overcrowding. :rolleyes: |
