Why EDM is dead in America?

Time for me to get on my soap box and stfu to those who get annoyed by it. But I have been trying to ascertain why EDM is so damn dead here in America. I'm guessing it's just because most of us don't have the patience to listen to an entire album by Sasha as he loops ethereal beats and synths together. Most of us would rather pop in a Lil' John cd and laugh as he says "yeaaaaah!"
When you go to a club these days in the States you see those damn kandii girls whom I detest. You know, those ones who snorted their prescribed ritalin, jump around shouting "plur!" and chew on their glowsticks. They also tend to look like rejected extras from the movie Party Monster.
That's about as normal looking as they get.
When I go to a club, I generally try to look somewhat classy...
me on the far left, Keri, then Kristy (oh yeah, the KKK is back, and some of us are in black, whoda thunk it?)
If you ask someone to name a trance track, they can only name Sandstorm. Gah! Sandstorm is not the be all and end all of trance! I dunno, it's just kind of annoying to me.
What are your thoughts on this? |

| Lucky. I had one follow me around at the Ferry show I went to back in January. She ran into me four times as though she lacked complete depth perception... that ganky bitch. |

| I don't really run into much of the kandy kid rif-raf @ the clubs in Chicago. I guess the whole 21+ thing kind of excludes most of that based on the fact that people who are that age have (usually) outgrown that sort of thing. |

Actual good djs that spin regularly in our clubs. More than just one decent club in my city. And to not be surrounded by people who think Tiësto - Love Comes Again is the anthem of all trance.
Either that, or set up residence on Ibiza. |

| Maybe you should move to Toronto or Montreal? They seems to have a kickass clubbing scene happening there..... |

Just because you like the music that she's hating on, don't go hating on her.
