And this is the cue for my PM'ing fastmp3 and swamper so as to ban you and then get in touch with your ip provider and tell them that you're harassing a website which could end up in legal action being taken against you.

Alright..lets let the topic continue.

From what I hear, the PS3 is actually supposed to be vastly superior to the Xbox 2, mainly because Sony has spent way more time and money on the project.

Next month we'll see both in action, and be able to determine a real winner.

You must be joking, right? Did you even look at the leaked specs of the XBOX 360? Not even the CELL processor that Sony planned to make a huge success with has anything on, simply, the core of the XBOX 360. Then again, Sony can pull something out of it's ass, last second. I doubt the PS3 will be more powerful.

Not likely (that we'll be able to determine a real winner). It's all going to come down to software. Graphics aren't everything.

Well, have you seen any specs for the PS3? Also, post those specs that you saw for the Xbox 360. If you compare and contrast and prove to me that the Xbox 360 is going to be superior hardware-wise...well then Ill HAVE to believe you.

At this point, I stand that the PS3 will be better hardware-wise, mainly because Sony (as well as Toshiba and IBM) have been hard at work on its hardware since only a few months after the PS2 was released in Japan. Plus, in the rumor section of EGM, a small interview with one of the developers working on games for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 said that the PS3 will be must faster and stronger.....who better to believe than a person actually working on games on these two consoles, right?

Right, but in this case, we were talking about the graphics (or moreso the hardware).

Games are an entirely different story...for all we know, the Revolution could mop the floor with Sony and Microsoft in this department.

Plus I hear that we will actually get to see some of the games for all 3 of these new consoles at this year's E3, so we'll be able to get a nice, early depiction of what we're in for.

Apparently, these are the specs:

CPU will use three 3.0GHz PowerPC cores, each with 32KB L1 cache, 32KB instruction cache, and the three share 1MB of L2 cache. Later alpha decks only featured two cores.

The graphics will be handled by a “next-gen” 500MHz ATI post-X800 adapter

There will be 256MB RAM—no word on what type; memory cards will range from 64MB to 1GB

There will be no “next-gen” (i.e. Blu-ray or HD-DVD) drive, but instead a dual-layer DVD

There will be an optional hard drive (as we heard before)—no word on final size

There will be a USB 2.0 camera for 1.2-megapixel shots and VGA-quality video

5.1-channel audio is handled in software—X3DAudio to be exact (no word on in/outs)

-------

Somehow, I fail to believe that Sony can come up with a more powerful system than the big M. I'm basing this on the facts that Microsoft has so many options and so many connections in the electronic world that they can get their hands on technology that's unimaginable to us, at the moment. No doubt Sony can do that as well but, once again, I'm basing this on what I read and talked to others about. It just doesn't seem like it could get any better than what the XBOX 360 will have to offer.

I don't trust people that work on games for the consoles considering the fact that they can really develop a bias after working with the hardware companies and just straight-out mudsling because "they don't like xxxx". But, yes, it would make sense to listen to what they have to say. Cautiously, however.

True, but you did state that "we were able to see a real winner". That statement was a bit vague so I took it with an open-ended stance.

Impressive to say the least.

I see what you mean, and it does make sense that we should wait for official word from Sony, rather than game developers, who really dont know anything. Lets just wait until E3 before further arguments can be made.

Specs bla blab bla bla bla. The PS3 will rock simply because of the quality titles that will come out for the system. X-box may have all the technical muscle but when it comes down to it its all about the game quality for me. It'll be interesting to see what will happen.
