Petro Canada and IDs

Okay so i understand that Canada has a legal smoking age. That's perfectly fine. I also understand that if you look under the age of 25, you should provide proof of age. No problem.
What i don't understand is why i am requested in a gas station tonight to provide CANADIAN ID when quite blatantly i am not Canadian! I show my Belgian ID, no go. Fair enough. I pull out my passport and what do i get told????? "No, we don't accept passports, only Canadian ID".
WHAT THE ?! How do people from Europe or the States or wherever else get a ing pack of cigarettes or alcohol when their passport isn't considered ID???? AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Fuck you Petro Canada!!! :whip: :whip: :whip:

| Its not perto canada..its the attendant who is to blame. According to the law, if you are below the age of 32 (i'm not sure on this one, but it was the case in Illinois), you have to show a GOVERNMENT issued ID, not matter from where. Go to another gas station in future..some people can just be retards at times. |

Yah i ended up having to go to another gas station where the guy didn't even bother to ask. But man am i pissed about that. What a godamn retarded inbred little bastard :whip: :whip:
I'm most definitely complaining about this. I want a friggin apology from that arrogant ... "Your passport no good" PLEASE! |

Similar thing happened when I went to an arab owned convenience store in square one, except I have a valid drivers license from this country.
I show him my ID (you can tell it's me in the picture) and I ask for my cigarettes and he looks at my ID and goes "aaaaaaaayh no" and I say "what?" and he says "so you are 19?" and I told him to look at the birthdate on it and he hesitates for a few seconds and then gets me the cigarettes.
