Some quick thoughts...
Great night. Got there around 2am. Underground parking was so easy... and there was barely a lineup to get in. So great when you're used to having to queue up forever for security.
Chris Liebing got the crowd really moving. His style was pretty heavy. Lots of effect use, but everyone was really into it. Anything more than 2 hours would have killed everybody. I left the last half hour to check out the Hip Hop room. Not as crowded, but pretty cool to see live hip-hop. Not really my thing, but people were pretty into it, and there was a good live vibe thing going.
AvB was amazing for the 4 hours. Started slowly and picked up from there. I was really surprised that Paul van Dyk's Crush brought down the house, at least from where I was (just to the side of the DJ booth). Everybody was screaming "I know you want me". Everyone around me was going nuts. Communication 2004/Part 3 did the same a bit later on. He got the crowd going with Remy's Til Ya Drop by doing the sleepy hands, which followed by the whole crowd cheering. He is so animated on stage, you can't help but dance and get right into it. The 4 hours just flew by. He played a lot tunes from his ASoT 2005 album. He ended the set with Rank 1's Breathing (Breaks Dub). Haven't heard that tune in ages. Awesome.
As that stopped, B&J started with the huge bass thing that made your hair tingle, which started into a vocal trance track. Can't remember the name, but it's pretty common on the playlist these days. They played a lot of "commercial" trance tracks, ie. lots of songs you have heard of before, and a quite a few vocal tracks. Not saying that's a bad thing, especially since by now you've been dancing for 6 hours now. It's nice to dance to some songs you can sing along with when you're tired. Oakenfold's Southern Sun comes in mind... Great tune at 9:30am.
Anyways, a great night overall. Well worth the drive up from Ottawa. And this was the first time I actually made it all the way to the end. Now if I would actually get my butt in gear, and show up to these meetups before the event. I'd love actually meet some of you, 'cause I read the forums every time there's a big event, and I never post. It'll be cool to put a face to the nicks. I'm sure I probably recognize a few of you (if you hang out in front of the DJ booth, or are in the VIP sections)
Now I need sleep. |

OMFGasczfy45ywhASOTXXXXXXXXXXXL like Taha said :stongue:
before going into Swirl, me and my 2 friends we drank like bums in the car parked next to the olympic stadium, right in front of a police station, HAHAH man we were so thrilled. We got drunk enough to have a funkin good buzz during the night (we finished all the alcohol:toothless ).
We then got inside at like 2:30 or 3, and man I freaked out, it took 5 minutes and I came across 20 people I know, including you TAs.
So i heard a good part of Liebing's set, it was ok , but man... too much of hard knocking hardcore techno. it was just too much and too loud we stayed outside the room to listen to his set and wait for Armin.
Than the man got on the decks ! Start with Ava Mea - In the End !! WOOT !
Armin blew my mind once again ! his sets are always CRAZY
we first got in front row and party like monkeys climbing the security bars ! then at some point Armin looked at me and saw my shirt and did this "HOOOOOOOOOO ! Nice shirt man" on his face. Felt great to see this. Then Louis gave us a VIP bracelet, Thanks bro !
we got in VIP and partied like savage animals with most of you !!
after a while I sneaked in the back of the dj booth and partied like a groupy !!!!! LOL got pictures of Armin until I got thrown out by this old foxer... I met David Lewis (Armin's manadger) really nice guy, not like the old guy...
I wished Armin would have played encore tracks, but it didn't happend.
these guys had trouble pluging final scratch on the mixer for Blank & Jones, lol. for a while, me and Greg (sound tech guy from Aria) had a good laugh about it... we thought there would have been a a moment with no music, but it didn't happend :p
we stayed a little bit for B&J and then left cause we were so tired. They did well for what I heard.
ARMIN VAN BUUREN YOU ROCK EVEN MORE THAN ELVIS :wtf:
so I guess I saw everybody tonight... all that were there  of course.
Kane, Wisnia, Monika, dj Misho, the devil ??, Karim, Layloula, Marcus, all you guys are super cool and very sympatic! hope i didn't forgot anyone. I was drunk so give me the credit. :P
Louis, thansk once again ! ZING ! Mazen were the hell did you vanished ?
Jeremie !!! ARMIN DÉTRUIT ! 1/2 set of amazing, 1/2 set was AMAZING !
and for all the others i forget to mention, "WA UP!"
I couldn't have pictured my night better. I had such a wonderful time.
in case you come across this:
THANKS ARMIN FOR THIS GREAT NIGHT ! YOUr SET WAS MINT ! exactly how I like them
We took a lot of pictures and 2 videos I think... its they are not Malek's creation but I think they will do ok.
I'll post a bunch when possible. |

NOOOOOoooooo its over!
What an absolutely insane night! I hadn't had that much fun in a while!
So we got there shortly after midnight and from the second i walked into the techno room i ccouldn't stop moving! I personally thought Lawrence was incredible....and Liebing was even more brilliant! WOW I love that hard fast pumping techno!!!:gsmile:
Everyone was so into it....everyone was smiling at each other...and chris is absolutely insane when he spins! so much energy!!!:eyes:
And then came on my true love Armin:gsmile: As soon as "perfect silence" came on I had to jump on wisnia's shoulders and blow armin a kiss from up there:D So much fun! did teh same when he put on "Arcadia"!!!!
My friend melanie came along and had a total blast! We spent most of the night alternating between the crowd and teh vip, which was awesome fun! I never had so much fun dancing!
The way armin interacts with the crowd is truly unbelievable! What a guy! Always smiling.....thats the way all dj's should be! I love it!
It was awesome to see so many familiar faces! I didnt know who to go dance with! All you TA's are awesome! Although Ièm not too sure who else i met for teh first time besides Marcus( you seemed to be having a blast! whata cheerful guy!!), layloula (you seem awesome definately have to go out sometime!) and gd_nimrod....?
Seriously the crowd was beyond amazing last night....we stayed till the end and are now relaxing at Misho's:toocool: :gsmile:
Well well thats all i can think of for now! I cant wait to see some pictures!!!
Bravo!! perfect night for me !
By the way louis I can't thank you enough for everything! you rock!!!:) |

OH MY GOD this night must have been the best night of 2005 even though the year isnt t over yet.
Came aroud 1 and had to go trough the hip hop room and boy did it look empty when i saw how the trance room was packed i was like ok i can breathe now, had time to catch last hour of Lawrencein which i was impressed by his set. Then came Liebing which I thought was good a little too progressive but no doubt i enjoyed his set.
Then it was like God himself was the Dj tongiht ARMIN started of slowly and built up to a climax in which I was engulfed and It took me to the MOON and Back. Honnestly this guy should definitly be number one no doubt after tonight. It s like he was playing the songs I was asking him to play. Then me and my friend Sam came right in front of him and we were asking him to play serenity and then he looked at us gave us the thumb up and smiled which means he was gonna play it. And BOY he did That song destroyed the whole place i couldnt think properly after armin left. The whole set was just too perfect. Oh and the highlight of the night is when i brought all of my freinds in the vip after armin finished his set and i spoke to one of his managers so we can get 2 seconds to talk to him and he did. Armin thats why ur fans like u its cuz u wanna please everyone.
Blankand WHOOO it sounded more like tiesto and oakenfold oldies at the end i was totaly dissapointed by the cheese rip off towards the end honnestly they left so fast cuz people were whistling at them..
Thanks to everyone for making it a Best night of 2005 U all know who u are.
Till next time im off to bed |

I went with a bunch of ppl from ottawa. I was actually pretty excited to go since this was the first big party I've went to since Cream , as school always got in the way =(.
Getting in was very smooth. I was a little disappointed with the setup. There was nowhere to chill out or lounge a bit. However, the music was better than I had expected. PLus, they had cold running water for once...
First off got in around 11:30. I didn't know much about Lawrence going in, but he played an awesome set. He played a lot of stuff I've never heard before and it flowed quite well. 9/10
Liebing just blew me away. I'm not really into techno but his mixing was superb. He played some really banging tunes and made the crowd go nuts! 10/10
Armin is probably the most fun Dj to watch. He always seems to be having the time of his life. I don't really listen to his music too much anymore, but it was great especially in the first half. Like someone already mentioned, he played it nice and slow at the beginning. This was exactly what I needed coming after Liebing's banging beats. The second half of his set was alright. 8/10
I thought I was gonna like B&J the least going in, and I was right. Apart from a few nice classics, I thought it was pretty poor. I've always thought more of them as producers anyways. And the mixing was horrendous at times. They seemed to change the pitch and base levels at weird times, i dunno...
All in all, it was great to be back at a big party. |

| Chris Liebing was good, I took way to much E and AVB sounded like low flta line to me for 4 hours. 3/4 of B&J set I have no memory of. Never taking E again, EVER. It was no fun. |
