SWIRL KICKED BAL EN BLANC'S ASS HANDS DOWN!Seriously,i dont think there was think that was wrong or went wrong last night (except that i had bad gas at the beginning, mood breaker). The set up was good,not super impressive,but still nice,felt a bit like at aria with the two screens on the side.The people were great,they were really into it,POLITE unlike the bal en blanc and not so much stinky people except for the weed but thats normal.
As for TA's,well just met Marcus while he was getting some water,but he doesnt even probably remember (im the guy with the yellow nike shirt and the white pants,kinda look like liebing...by the way is liebing a mulatto or a mix of somekind?)
I arrived around 1am with my sis and her friend,we caught the 2nd part of Christopher Lawrence's set, i would have liked him to play cruise control,but he didnt,but still it was nice,yes a bit cheesey towards the end,but when i got there,he was pumpin.
Then came Liebing...i dont think my feet ever touched the ground,the guy kept me jumping like nutz,people around were loosing their heads,it was insane,what a performance,he just got himself a new BIG fan. And even if you dont like Techno, Chris's presence and energy is enough to get you going,he really enjoy what he does and it shows.
Awesome dj,he's on top of my list with Preach Armin and Carl Cox.
Armin,wicked as always. Started off with the Ave Mea track,awesome track from ASOT,so he started off really nice,but of course the last 2 hours of his set were the best,putting on some hard beats,got the crowd going,everyone with their hands in the air,just awesome as always,sick sick stuff.
As for Blank and Jones,wish i could have stayed but my feet and knees were not there,i had practically nothing left,so i stayed for maybe 5-10 mins of their set,they started off okay,then i went to the hip hop a room to cool down before going (dj shortcut really put on a show),but i think the middle of their set was pumping from what i heard as i was going away.
Bummer of the night: I missed Nas,i know you people dont like hip hop,well him its something else,its true hip hop,sis told me he sang street dreams and other classic,DAMN!well missed Nas and Beatnuts for armin,it was worth it por seguro!
Anyways im going to bed,my knees are still hurting like hell,ill never forget this one,probably the best night ever!!!

Got the Most rest as I could ! Now time to review this incredible Night !!!!!:crazy: !!! SO EXCITING !
Arrived with the Usual Ta crew at midnight-ish !
Venue was actually very enjoyable!!!! I think it was simple , not too big and felt COZY !!! and the crowd was very very very Good, all SMILES !!! So many familiar faces !!!!!!!!
Lawrences Set was definetly GOOD !!!Was very pleasently surprised , not knowing what to expect from him ! Liebing , well , i think he made us all move with his hard pumpin tracks !!! I think it was great to dance to something so hard , and then get down to a a more chilling and relaxed state for ARMIN !!!
no words ! ARMIN IS MY GOD ! :tongue2 ! The Most perfect silenceeeee, is when there is no neeed to speakkkkkkkk :eyespop:
Great choice of tracks ! wow ! Was absolutely Incredible to see everyone so INTO his set , including my fellow TA's !!!

Didnt stay for much of Blank& Jones set , but all i can say is Poor them going after such a great set by ARMIN !

Holy crap, I don't know whre to begin ...
First of all, this is the first party I've been to in the Big-O ... the place was A quality ... everything close by, pretty good sound, big points for the watertaps right outside the danceroom =), washroom lineups were pretty managable, the balcony view was great, lotsa room to sit down and chill and it wasn't too packed ... better than Bell Centre IMO :D ... if not the slow-ass coatcheck at the end it'd be A+. ;)
I only got there on the last part of Lawrence's set but it was solid, he really got the crowd going.
Chris Leibing was great, his set was very fun to dance to, although I was just waiting for armin at that point :P
ARMIN WAS SICK!!!!!! ... definitely a great set, played a lot of classic trance songs/remixes ... never dissapoints me .... kudos!
Blank&Jones were pretty good, although i was already outta steam by the time they were playing, I was expecting a lighter set but this one hit the spot as well :)
It's rare I have someting good to say about ALL the DJ's in one party

Just woke up from a decent sleep...I had a fantastic time! Absolutely LOVED it. I was expecting good things from Christopher Lawrence and he delivered! I thought he played a really good set. Some nice beats and great energy to set the tone for Liebing. WOW, I must say I wasn't really a Liebing fan at all before last night, but now he's up there near the top of my list. Loved the hard raging beats, I just couldn't stop moving! Everytime the bass came in you just couldn't help yourself! And the funny retarded he does in the booth is priceless! Hope to see him again soon. Then came Armin...and at risk of being flamed...It seems I'll be the only one on this board who didn't like his set one bit! I'm just not such an Armin fan, and after moving to those hard energetic beats for 4 hours with Lawrence and Liebing, Armin's mellowness and boring beats just didn't do it for me at all. I sat down for most of the second half of his set resting up for Blank and Jones. Watched them until 9:45, and I thought they were pretty in good. Maybe not mixing-wise, but their beats were awesome, so much energy! I just didn't want to leave the dancefloor!
Anyway it was great chillin with Marcus and Shawn all night, nice to meet Bertuzz...and a couple of other TA's who I couldn't understand a thing they said except for the fact that they were TA's. That French reality TV show guy was sooo random Marcus, pretty funny to see. Overall a fantastic night. The setup in the techno room was pretty good. Bathrooms and water close to the dancefloor unlike BEB where it was a in journey every time. Glad everyone had fun! Wicked night! |

Can someone (Monika? Since i saw you and Mel talking to her as well) let me know who that chick in back of armin in this picture is? The one with the white band on her hand right behind him... i remember talking with her last night in the dj booth but i have no idea who she was in relation to the event or to armin or what she does.
But boy can she dance :eyespop:

I arrived at Swirl very early at 9h30 for opening. As soon as we arrived, my girlfriend and I, we went to the Trance room where MarcoG was starting.
MarcoG was so so IMO. He gots interesting when people got on the dancefloor. Otherwise he was trying to get people to dance and it took a lot of time. We started dancing at 10h45.
Lawrence was incredible! He never heard and saw that DJ and I must say that I was impressed! I really rocks me and to be sincere, Lawrence has been the DJ that makes me dance the most. When he played his second track (one from the latests ASOT), I started to jump and shout!
Liebing was ok. I didn't listen to his whole set because we took a break when he arrives in the booth. When we get back, we sneaked to get in the front row, where we were before leaving for a break :) Most of the time, I was in the front row. My girlfriend enjoyed a lot Liebing!
Armin was pretty good! Not as good as Lawrence, maybe because he played 4 hours, but I leaved the dancefloor again at 6h30 to get a break. I really enjoyed the first hour and a half of Armin, where he puts many many of ASOT tracks, and then it started to get slower. When we got back at 7h30 (always sneaking a good spot on front row lol), I really enjoyed his last 30min. But to be sincere, I was in a "Blank and Jones" mood lol
Blank and Jones was pretty good too! It took a while for me to get pumpin for their gig, but when it happens, I was jumping everywhere lol Last hour of Blank and Jones were incredible! It was the first time I saw them and surely not the last one ;)
Overall, it was my best night ever! Best birthday ever also!! lol it was my birthday yesterday ;)
I remember seeing Marcus. I don't know any TAs, but pictures on the forums helped me to remember some of you guys ;) If I'm right, Marcus, you were wearing a white shirt and was in front rows for Lawrence :) At what time, you were just on my back lol
Anyway that's about it :) Anybody knows where will be the pictures taken by officials guys? They took a lot of them and 3 or 4 of my girlfriend and I! Lol I took some pictures with my cellphone, only 1 for most DJs, and Lawrence saw me taking the picture and he smiled at me :) The bad thing is that my phone's camera is cheap and I cannot see a lot of thing lol
Man, I'm so tired!
edit: forgot to say that all the time, my girlfriend was the one that lead the way and sneak out a path to get to the front row...lol I'm a shy guy:D |
