I work out of my house, which is AWESOME....i work whenever i want (meaning when the weather sux or i need cash!!!).

I'm an interior designer and I have my own business (w/my roomate), people call us and we go to their houses and for $50/hr we tell them how they should redecorate!!! Pretty easy $$$, plus it's fun!!

I also do contract work for an architect, designing cell phone tower sites......not really fun work, but since I work from home, whenever I want....it's good!!!:tongue2

Where did you go to school? Are you an registered designer?

I am more interested in finding out how many students here think they will actually get a job in the field they are training in. I have a B.Sc. degree in Geography....the only useful part of that education for me is knowing how to read a map to get to my next appointment.

That's what I meant!!! It takes a tough person to handle those issues and actually add value to those kids' lives...

I also volunteer at a community centre every Friday night for youth in my area (Malvern in Scarborough...consider it inner-city youth) and I also hear about some effed up sometimes but it's the success stories and positive advice that keep me going there, to show some of these kids that there's hope and they can actually make something with their lives...I love that kind of stuff...this also keeps me away from partying on Fridays but recently I have been coming out after my shift there...(instead of sticking around and playing sports with them till about 1 am...I've been feeling really guilty about that! :()

HA! I have left my job plenty of times to do something more fun. My boss always said that if you don't have a good life outside the job, you will want to kill yourself because the job itself is so stressful and demanding.
Yeah, and I know about Scarborough, my ex (guy in pic) lives and grew up there. Been there a few times ;)

I just completed a 4 yr honours degree in History and will be going to Teachers College in Sept. For the summer I will be working with the Tim Horton's Children Foundation as a Wilderness Leader. Lots of fun.

On a side note - EvilTree - you mentioned you serve in the CDN Reserve. I served for a couple of years with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment - also an infantry unit. What unit are you attached with?
