"don't dish it out unless you can take it"
until Scotland become a decent team, you have no grounds whatsoever to call England ""
we're not Brazil, sure, but we are FAAAR from ""
then again, being Scottish you'd know the exact deifnition of "", so maybe you're jibe is more accurate than i'm giving credit for... |

You seem to be the one that "can't take it" as you seem so hell-bent on having an argument.

Yes! It's "What comes out of the mouths of the fans of our southern neighbours". :D
People wonder why we don't support you guys in your footballing exploits. Well maybe this little equation might help shed some light on the subject...
England + Modesty - Arrogance = More Likable
Yeah, you have a great team, but what people don't wanna hear is that "you're the best team ever with the best well-behaved fans and you'll surely win X, Y and Z."
Arrogance or delusion? |

you're a clown... you're just bitter that Scotland are
i for one dont wonder why you dont support England in anything.. do you think i support Scotland in anything whatsoever?! Do i .. its England i support not "Great Britain"
i think you're the arrogant one to be fair mate.. i disagree with you so i must be "hell bent on an argument".. yeah... coz the opinions of anonymous internet users matter that much to me

Ah, that's good. So many other fans of yours wonder why we don't cheer on England when it's an "England vs Random Team A" match.

Like I have much to be arrogant about being a Scotland fan?! Well, apart from our fantastic travelling support! :D

Fair enough, but why the harsh personal comments then? |

The whole argument about scottish people not having grounds to comment on english teams is bull I'm afraid scaza.
Scotland is a country with a smaller population than central london, we have all money spent on our nations sports, so it's understandable that our nation as a sporting entity is piss poor.
What you fail to realise here is, that as scotland is joined to england we get all the media coverage of how the english national team are world beaters, and how this year their going to bring it home for ENGLAND AND ST GEORGE!!. it's frustrating listening to how you won the world cup in 66 for the 6 months leading up to every single major tournament. The team since then have been under acheiving moners.
It's not a case of we're bitter, it's a case of we're sick fed up of watching the same tired video's of england victories over and over again and we're sick of listening to your arrogant and often dillusional commentators spout the same e during every game involving an english team. The only thing we're not sick of is laughing at you when you fail.
The difference between the scottish and english is, we know we're e so when we go to tournament's we go there to have a laugh, meet new people, from far off lands, you english however actually think you can win, and when you realise yer teams not all they cracked up to be - you resort to trashing places. |

I didnt realise I was comin across as that harsh and personal mate, but having just read over my comments, I can see where ive just said "being Scottish you'd know about being " etc... i actually meant " footy team".. not "a people"! (sorry!)
CHESCO: I know... you're right.. we all have the right to comment no matter how e our own teams are, but when i'm indulging in a bit of footy banter, I tend not to worry about being hypocritical/talking etc ha...
That sounds e... if I had to sit through Archie Gemmil's famous goal every year i'd be annoyed too. Ah well, I can't control the people at BBC
PS: I love scottish people, almost everyone I've ever met in real life has been one of the soundest people Ive known (just to clear up for anyone else thinkin i hate the Scottish!)
PPS: I'm actually not too arsed about England.. injurin our in players in meaningless friendlies etc. If they win I'm happy but I'll never pay to see them etc and I never cry when they lose. I just strongly disagreed the way the "hooligans" thing got thrown in, when the last 2 major tournaments England fans have been exceptional, but the thrad should have been entitled "liverpool fans" i suppose, as its only 5 years since the last major Engligh outburst abroad... |

Well, only "exceptional" compared with what's happened in the past. I think the FA have done well to stop this sort of thing even happening, but I fear they would have done nothing if it wasn't for the pressure put on them by UEFA. England have a bigger problem with THIS sort of thing than most countries... |

True, England fans still aren't all perfect, but its a bit of an inevitable thing now imo... they were sooo horrendous in the past that every team they play now, their hardcore support is like "wow its england.. we need to show them whose boss now" etc, and they probably instiagate a fair share of trouble, and in those cases I'd never criticise well behaved England fans for fighting back.
Then again, you can say "Its no good moaning now, you're own fault for you're behaviour in the 70s/80s/90s". FA have done a brilliant job yeah, if you would have said even in the early 90s I think, that England fans would be so infuriated at the Spanish FA for doin all aboust mass racism at their grounds, you probably would have been called a joke, but its a big turnaround and it makes me proud to see our top flight games sold out everyweek with barely a hint of trouble, and when my team goes away in Europe and we astound people with how many we take and how well we support our team.
I'll just stick to Liverpool anyway I think  |

Nice bit of generalising there...
Your ing clueless if you think everybody who supports England is a hooligan!
Do you have ginger hair? Do you eat haggis all the time? Would it break your heart to lend somebody 10p?
Your gettin sucked into media hype about England fans well how much trouble have England fans caused in Europe this year? Or how bout in Portugal 2004? Or how bout in the domestic leagues? Now you compare that to every other country in Europe and England fans will come out on top of nearly every other nation. And dont forget it takes two to tango... |

Sorry but if you think the hooligan problem in England is anywhere near like it is in any county on the Continent then your living in cloud cuckoo land mate |

...and if you think that "England fans will come out on top of nearly every other nation" when compared by how they conduct themselves, then frankly that's an insult to the nations who have no such problems. |
