your heads so far up your own English media orientated arse its laughable!

yes in Scotland we can admit to being , id go as far as to say we dont mind being as realistically we know were going to struggle against the weakest of teams, we like alcohol, we go abroad we get pissed have a laugh enjoy ourselves and then find out the result!

however thats where people like yourself fail to grasp the fact that the English team is ! on paper yes they look good but what have you won? the WC in 66? more recently perhaps?
it has been plastered across numerous countries that you have a LARGE hooligan element who go looking for trouble and then get a few more topless drunks who cant seem to control their watered down beer either and just rampage as you normally, like has been said previously in this thread seem to enjoy doing.

now maybe ive got the wrong end of the stick about English football, its over rated players (built up largely by the wanks in the English media) and the LARGE hooligan element but hey what can you do imjust an unbiased eye looking in on things, im sure well get the full story from those who are amongst it!

ps just for the record im not saying every english person is a wank just george mostly and those who seem to pop up on our screens from time to time rampaging across the land

Oh yea, and you can get ur own head out of your own media orientated arse if you think our hooligans are representative of the vast majority of England fans (and if you think Scotland doesn't have hooligans your an idiot...in fact, Rangers fans fight alongside the England fans so looks like your fans are just as bad...)

No they wouldnt walk onto any club in the world. Gerrard is over rated. Certainly not world class. ALonso is a more important player then him. Gerrard and lampard cant play in the same team successfully without having a holding midfielder. Beckham certainly wouldnt. Individually they might all be great players, but they cant play well as a team.

One of the best teams of paper yet yous cant manage to get past the 1/4 finals? fairly pathetic. NEarly as bad as france sure.

Oh and backham cant play the holding role, hes far to .

Well I never said anything about England as a team unit. Obviously the national team is very different to club level because the team are not together all the time, so a proper working unit is not developed as well as a club level team.

Gerrard may be overated in your eyes, but I think 99% of the footballing world would disagree with you. Alonso is a brilliant player, and Benitez has found a gem of a player who will go onto win big things, but they are both different.

You may have your doubts about England but in all truth, the last two competitions we lost against the eventual winners, that being Brazil, and Portugal who lost in the final. A team does simply not have to have a "holding midfield" if a formation, or tactic is evolved into developing a standard of play which would combat this, this i guess is what Sven is paid to do.

Never mind Rooney playing too. He plays behind Owen in a Attacking Midfield role and has a endless engine, ask a Manchester United fan.

Oh and nearly as bad as France? Yes cant qualify from their group stage in last world cup, and then beaten also beaten in QF.

My own belief in Englands failure is we need a English manager. Guess im just a traditionalist.

Oh and i wouldnt be suprised if England fans equalled the number of German fans during the next world cup if we played each other. We dominate where ever we go. Thinking about going to next world cup too. Wont be able to go to any matches though as i heard allot of them are allready sold out.

Celtic fans are known world wide for their brilliant support. Passionate fans. forgot who they lost against in the final, but afterwards the police issued a statement in thanking Celtic's fans in bringing such a festival atmosphere, and even though they lost (with a bunch of divers cheating their way to winning the cup) their fans were brilliant in defeat.

You gotta remember about Liverpool being a English team. I support Derby and unless a Rams fan moved abroad or something i would find it very strange for a person to support a team that is not their local. That is why Man U fans in USA get so much , for being glory fans, because they should support their own local teams. Local football would be dead if local people didnt support them. So when Liverpool won, i think most people felt that it was English fans because it is a English club. Just a quick generalisation i guess on the thread makers mistake. I guess football unfortunetly has developed into a person picking a team to support rather than being born into a football team like most passionate supporters.

Ok forget about Liverpool for a minute, in the first post that was only ONE example, the other was the better example of when we played Portugal, in Euro 04 HOSTED by Portugal and the England fans had twice as many fans as the Portugese...how many teams would be able to outnumber the host nation?! I don't care how many hooligans we have (no more than any other country but anyway) the vast majority of our fans are the most passionate about their team and I'm open to arguments from people who disagree but you can't argue with what that Portugese match showed...

It is true that our team has not seen its potential, but that doesn't make it . That's a childish conclusion to come out with. Only 7 nations have ever won the World Cup. Since we won it in 66 we have been in three quarter finals and one semi-final.

The England team is slowly but surely getting stronger, I'd say it's the best team we've had since 1990. All we're missing at the moment is a good manager, but it seems the FA are relucant to pay off Eriksson's hefty contract and get shot of him. Apart from Beckham and Neville all the players are a good age.

How can you say anyone has the 'best fans'? People have different ways of expressing their support. In some countries such as Britain, Ireland, Holland, Germany etc there is more of a culture of travelling to follow your team. In other countries such as Spain or Italy the fans don't travel with their team so much, it's just not a part of their football culture. You also have to bear in mind that many people can't afford to travel around Europe watching football.
