any one do them? Planning on getting into it myself but not sure what one to try. Looking for self-defense and striking ones combined.
Muay Thai looks good, but not much self-defense is it? just striking. Looks vicious aswell!
What about BJJ? i know thats mainly ground work, and grappling. is there much strike work involved?
Open to any other suggestions aswell. |

| I have trained & practiced different types of Karate all my life & wasted alot of my childhood years doing so. I first trained Shokokan Karate & from age 8 to 10 trained in Okinawa with the great Master Tanaka. While there as a youngster I was also shown some Samurai ways & techniques. Then at age 10 I was forced to move to China to train & practiced a different type of Karate called Mensin also with Master Tanaka. I was there till age 14 & then moved back to the States. Then at age 18 I went back to Okinawa to train for Kumite. I won my first Kumite at age 18 & held my title till I retired when I was 25. You can say my hands & feet are lethal weapons. |

| I took Karate lessons back when I was seven. I reached low yellow belt, then my mom pulled me out because, "I used it on my little brother too much." :( |
