Here's the same basic loop but this time done in Cubase using the TC Native compressor.

Both loops have been "Mastered" using the TC Powercore Master X3 but you can get the same result using the VintageWarmer or Waves L2/L3.
Mastering in this sense, is just a temporary fix to get the track levels to demo standard. If you do indeed write the next Ibiza Floor-Filler then it's safe to assume that you won't be mastering it. |
ok, just checked the samples...
damn, how can you give advices on making a "PERFECT kick" if yours doesn't sound right ? Do you really think that you made a pro-sounding 'perfect' kick ??
Compare your kick to Lange's, Pulser's, Above & Beyond's kicks and you'll understand what I mean :D
No offence, but I just don't understand why you're giving advices on something you have to learn yourself :) |

The Kick and Bass must be compressed together.
So create a stereo Group in Cubase or a stereo Bus object in Logic.
Set the kick channel output to that group or bus.
|
Anyway to do this in FL Studio? |

Reactance::conf: I think that you're talking about the same person
I don't take this thread to serious, I have my own ways to make "my sound". But it gave me some ideas to improve that :) Thx Dave! |

I think he's talking to Liquid8, who seems to find amateurism a bit offensive. |

Theres no such thing as the perfect kick, anyone with any understanding of EDM will know that. But the post can help you get your perfect kick (or close to) for your song, if you utilise the information to its full effect. Of course you make your own changes, but the thread wouldn't of sparked as much interest if the title was "The better than average kick - Here's how"
Yea? |

Absolutely.
The point of the thread was to help those (you needed it it) to move from trial-an-error to the beginnings of a more structured approach. Then as you say, move on from there. |
