I'm a hardcore Import Tuner fan. instant buy without even skimming through the magazine at the shop.
I'm losing interest in Modified magazine. It's thick, but their articles are amazingly bland for a production of their size
no super street. too many "look at Nads " jokes.
I get Sport Compact Car every now and then. They have some excellent writers though.

i wish i could take photographs like those in Import Tuner. they have it down to an artform

I really enjoy reading the articles in Sports compact car. They are very acurate when giving step by step instructions, and like you said, they have excellent writers.

So what do u guys think, i just installed my springs the other day and now my car sits at 1.8/1.5. I kinda want it lower in the front, but my friends say its just right.

but anyway...i was once like you all. ridiculously fascinated by my car, wanted it to be this and that. i got over that quickly. sort of a waste of money. why would i drop all that money into my honda when i could just as easily spend a bit more to get a bmw or an audi or whatever. nothing against everyone that mods their car...but do you think you'll ever get over it like i did?

Well its definately not a "phase" or anything with me, I think I'll be doing this for years, I'm sure I'll end up getting a BMW or something in the future, but I have always been into customizing things, plus it will be nice to beat some pretty damn fast cars when I finished with mine, this car will be my toy, I'll get a BMW or an Infiniti SUV (been looking at some already) for my more luxury car.

Del slo haha. Yah, it is a 97 S, 1.6 Liter SOHC non-vtec, but it’s not that bad though, runs smooth and great on gas. I’m slowly changing all the parts to a lighter/stronger material for faster acceleration and less mechanical stress. (Full cat back exhaust, cam pulley, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, etc...) I also am about to put on a Civic EX head on it to make my block vtec so I can get that extra engine management and high rev. ;)
I was never really into that whole ¼ thing, because it’s kind of boring. I’m more into circuit racing, that’s why I’m setting up my car for AutoX (autocross)

I know what you mean, about the wasting money thing, but it’s just so awesome to get your car the way you want it. There are some really nice Honda’s, Nissan’s and Toyota’s out there, fast too! And just the satisfaction alone of getting great times on the track and giving Ferrari owners a heart attack at the green light is ridiculously exhilarating.

just take a look at these pics of this badass EG hatchy!

right, so why'd you say 5-20 PERCENT gain. most cars these days are about 200hp NA, that's 10-40hp you're saying. and if you're running forced induction with high PSI, chances are you're also going to have an intercooler, and no CAI.

the drop on the del sol looks about right. if its just recently installed, give it some time. after about 6-12 months depending on how harsh you drive your car, the springs will sag a little and lower your ride height.

i've pretty much grown out of the sport compact car phase myself but i doubt i will be selling my car anytime soon.

Ehhh, not a big Asian car fan. There are the cars that stand out, then there are the cars that people put way too much money into to get them to "stand out." Just take a car for what it is, Honda being reliable and good milage. Not a race car. the Toyota MR2 Turbo, and Supra turbo being race cars.
Mark
well, a hobby is a hobby. who's gonna argue with that? i've gone thru the honda route and i do agree that in the end, its just too much money spent on a car.

however, i've had my share of fun while i was 'upgrading' the car and i've learned lots along the way too. thats all that matters.
