Haha, I alot of good laughs in this thread. From the numerous times that "VTech" was mentioned (an electronic device company) to the large amount of incorrect information.
TranceSpeeder, I'm a Honda enthusiast and I don't usually bash other Honda/Acura owners...but the way you present yourself is like a young kid with a new car and little more than a textbook knowledge about your vehicle.
The concept of VTEC isn't exclusive to Hondas, Ford has a system very much like it called "Zetec" and other companies have adapted similar setups as well.
I myself own a 1990 Acura Integra GS (an automatic at that). I wouldn't consider it "fast" but it's pretty quick for its year and $20,000 price tag when it was new. Granted it's a little quicker due to the full exhaust (intake, header, high-flow cat, catback exhaust) and carbon fiber hood I put on, its still no match for the newer imports. The thing I like most about the car though is how it handles, for FWD it's one of the most fun cars I've driven (besides a MINI maybe) and it only got better when I upgrades the shocks and lowered it.
For those of you who have your doubts about Honda, I've got videos of a few Integras like mine (130-170hp depending on the engine) throwing down 500+whp on a dyno...think about that. |

| i like your car domain page, nice car you got there. i know you cant compare very new cars to the integra because they stopped making them in 2001, you cant compare a car from 2001 to 2006. the car that replaced the integra, but i got my self a one damn nice car. |

I nominate this among the threads of the year.
First of all, I believe that I mentioned that my car is "unloaded". For those of you that didn't catch that (i.e. 3,000 lbs. comment), that means that the car doesn't carry as much weight as the typical Camry because of modifications (frame, carbon, etc). In fact, my car weighs almost exactly 2,600 lbs. with me in the driver's seat.
At stock, my car's engine was 130 horsepower. Today, I have a 240 horsepower (checked today) turbo under the hood. With intake, a modified gearbox, upgraded fuel injection, and the light weight, I find it humorous that anyone would dare call bull on me regarding its speed.
If anyone's in the Seattle area and wants to clock it themselves, I'd be willing to bet that I can break 5 seconds again. (Although, as I said, I've only done it once.) |

But I get a laugh when people are like, "What the ... his Camry is faster than my rice."
Edit: And the reason I continue to drive it is because it's reliable, cheap to run, and cheap to insure. |
