Opinion of turning this forum into 2, Atlanta & Miami (pg. 3)

I voted "Divide the forum into an Atlanta forum & a Miami forum with 2 seperate moderators".
Save me some headache and makes things much simpler. Not that I wasn't up for the challenge but from a user satisfaction standpoint, it is logical and appropriate.
However, there are some points I like to make.
1. contrary to popular belief, mdamon was not suspended directly because he insulted bling in that one thread. he is a borderline forum troll who's habitual line crossing got himself suspended. as a moderator, it is my job to read ALL the posts and therefore i may have read and seen posts that others may not have seen where mdamon repeatedly name-calls and harrasses other users. on top of which, i have gotten repeated complaints from your fellow users about his behavior towards them. i have warned mdamon through PM and publicly in threads about his behavior and despite that, he persisted. his post towards bling was merely the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
2. i find it very sad that it had to come to a forum splitting to solve the conflict. and over what? intolerance of other area's parties, imaginery inter-city competition and general lack of understanding. it's not sad because a little local forum members can't get along. in the grand picture of things, it's really doesn't matter. what is sad is the revelation that, if such tiny differences can not be amended in an internet forum, what hope is there for greater global conflicts of intolerance/misunderstanding/competition to solve itself?
3. please don't vote "Divide the forum into an Atlanta forum & a Miami forum but share one common moderator (Scott)". there will be a riot on the FL forum that i will have to deal with. :p

I actually thought of making a sticky just for you two before you said anything. There is one stipulation. One, all random thoughts from your merry adventures down the drunken path be limited to this post. If you're too drunk to follow that rule, I'll remove the sticky and delete all future drunk threads. :p

| well, I voted split with 2 diff mods... and if you want to know my reasons... well, most of you saw my thread in the suggestions section so I have many of them that I don't feel like typing all over again ;) |

it wouldnt be so bad if there wasnt a select contingent of people who come in here almost solely to spam to entertain their boredom and believe it or not, it scares off and intimadates others from posting, now members and old. what really chaps my ass is that there will be a decent thread going and then it will be the same group of jackoffs that will come in and hijack a perfectly good thread. sorry for the rant.
i am all for mr pink and nachos drunk thread, good idea mr pink, because that is what they like and it would help clean up TA from what some of us quote "boring, old school, more mature" TA's see as pointless nonsense. and its not that i think that there is anything wrong with the occasional spam or silliness(im guilty too), its just like why does it have to be every friggin day?! honestly are some of you that bored, is this your only medium of entertainment? sober up and go outside and shoot hoops a day or two a week. leave the post whoring alone for 24 hours or so, and post something with a modicum of intelligence every once and awhile just to let me know that you are sober and your alright, so i dont have to worry so much!
now dont get me wrong, i love to party, in fact i am pretty sure i can out party any of you little bastards still even tho my early 20s are behind me! i remember what it was like to be 22, i was getting "crunk", popping beans like they were skittles, snorting blow like i was in motley crue. but damn, i wasnt anywhere close to a computer when this was going down, i was too busy ravin' my nuts off and trying to score some patch!! now i am not trying to judge some of you kids and spammers and come off as some self righteous, condescending prick. im just giving you my view on that the board in the past 8-12 months has really evolved into a cesspool of nonsense at times. and i have an theory what fostered this evolution, but thats immaterial. lastly, no one is saying you cant have fun on the boards. moderation is the key here, dont overdue it, thats not asking too much.
scott, i understand your trying to do your job and honestly i cant believe you put up with the that you do. but sometimes you do come off as partial to atlta's, your objectivity is suspect at times. at any rate i think you are doing a good job overall, you seem to be a very astute and wise individual. and its ridicuolous that is where it is at right now, but such is life.
concluding, personally i think florida should have its own forum for other more fundamental reasons; the main one being we have the largest scene in the nation, and that we have alot of events that go on month to month. not that we think our scene is better than atlantas or anything like that we just have alot of stuff going on. i beleive almost every large city in this country has something unique and special to offer edm-wise, and that should be embraced and celebrated from the east to the west coast. in short i am sorry for the hyberbolic dialogue at times, but i am sincere in what i feel and i didnt mean to offend anyone with this post just state my opinion. peace, neil;) :crazy: :wtf: ;) :D |

it is unfortunate that it has come to this b/c if these forums hadnt been joined to bein with, I probably wouldnt have met all the ATL ppl that are my buddies now. I am friends with a lot of TAs from miami to atlanta, and have also noticed that the only ppl that have a problem with the forum the way it is are SOUTH florida people that i have never met. and really i thought that we could all get along, but some people just cant let it rest, and i dont think its right that people blame scott for this rift. scott was voted in as our mod by a lot of the old TAs who dont post anymore b/c the forums have been polluted by the new TAs drama. really... was arturo that great of a mod? i can remember begging swamper to help us get a new mod b/c things were already so out of hand.... so split the forums with 2 different mods and give scott a freaking break... but dont any of you bitch when you notice how dead the board become when we can't argue. either that or see how long it takes for some new drama to arise...

1. Contrary to popular belief. When goes down anywhere whether it be the CORe or a local section... If someone gets suspended people will bitch and moan wanting to know the answers why. Both TTA and NEO talked about why Vivid Boy, Orbax, and Ken got suspended. The only thing that bothered me is that You didn't answer anyones questions in the 'Regarding damons suspension' thread.
2. I know what was said in other threads [time 2 seperate.. blah blah] that was another reason why u suspended Damon.. But don't you think your warning was a bit far back? I mean.. you are actually going to hold things against us when you warn us months back? I find that werid... but w/e. What is done is done.
I was in atlanta a month ago and I totally love you all. You all are a great bunch. So it's nothing personal and I dont think you guys should stay away from the Fl section if it does seperate. I just have to agree w/Neil that we both have a lot of things going on and its better for us to be seperated instead of having a bunch of threads that don't pertain to most of us.
And about people pm'ing u scott about damons behavior. Didn't a lot of people PM u about one of your promoters behaviors? Even a fellow ATL had a problem with it.. it wasn't just us FL folk. Did u suspend him? Nope.
nothing personal PLEASEEEEE... i just dont think thats fair. |

Ok, my two cents worth
For all of this arguement up till recently I have been opposed to the split. The reason for this is that I have met so many great people from FL and the surrounding states through the SETA local forum. I always check SETA first when I get online to see what is going on. The list of people from FL generally and Miami specifically that I consider to be friends in many cases (or at least "online" friends in others) is huge. For the most part I enjoy interacting with everyone who consideres SETA to be their local forum.
Lately however I have come to realize that some people's ego's will never be satisfied until at the very end Miami (by itself) has its own forum.
I am increadable proud of Atlanta, I understand civic pride very well. For example, I personally enjoy getting into arguements with Groove Eric over baseball. Its fun to rep your city against the other guy's, but unfortunatly some people on both sides can't see it as internet bull and take it to seriously. (not directed at eric :))
I am voting to split the forums simple because I am tired of this being a big deal everytime some little thing comes up. For the most part the people that I talk to from all over the SETA could care less. Some, however are so adament about their chosen city being better that they must ruin what otherwise would be a fun, friendly forum. |

I definitely think most of this was targetting non florida TA's, let us be honest now, shall we? ;)
The idea that a bunch of post whores intimidate new/old TA's is something I can actually see and comprehend. ok, great, but it doesn't mean they can't join the fun. Isn't that what a group of people like to do- have fun?:conf:
Now, I put "jackoffs" in BOLD cuz that wasn't necessary. We all know who you think is a post whore, we all know who you mean. Don't insult our intelligence by saying your argument isn't directed to anyone when it really is :)
A "perfectly good thread" as defined by you might be a completely useless thread to many others. You want something intelligent? Your viewpoints are subjective. Everything you think is subjective. Just like everything I think is "cool", "old", "boring", "mature/immature" is completely my own opinion. A perfectly good thread doesn't exist cuz some one will always "ruin" it, or make it better. Some one will always make you laugh, or make you roll your eyes. That's conversation man, that's life. I don't see my personality as being "jackoff" material. But oh well, your view on me is........subjective.
and indeed, I agree with a "drunk thread" in the name of me and nachos.......but i dont think we'd be drunk HALF the time we post in there.
Just know, for every post you DO read of mine.......think of all the moments you DON't.
i think it's funny that everyone who doesn't like our spamming contributes absolutely nothing that I consider of value to the FL/SETA forum...whether it be humorous or "intelligent", or whatever. The most intelligent thing I've ever read someone say on here is........"OMG TIESTO SUCKS!!!!!!!"
the rest is idle chit-chat.
anywayz, no offense to anyone. I have no personal quarrels with any of you, especially mattivi. I just think it's funny how people pass judgements on those they know nothing about.
