i am all for mr pink and nachos drunk thread, good idea mr pink, because that is what they like and it would help clean up TA from what some of us quote "boring, old school, more mature" TA's see as pointless nonsense. and its not that i think that there is anything wrong with the occasional spam or silliness(im guilty too), its just like why does it have to be every friggin day?! honestly are some of you that bored, is this your only medium of entertainment? sober up and go outside and shoot hoops a day or two a week. leave the post whoring alone for 24 hours or so, and post something with a modicum of intelligence every once and awhile just to let me know that you are sober and your alright, so i dont have to worry so much!
now dont get me wrong, i love to party, in fact i am pretty sure i can out party any of you little bastards still even tho my early 20s are behind me! i remember what it was like to be 22, i was getting "crunk", popping beans like they were skittles, snorting blow like i was in motley crue. but damn, i wasnt anywhere close to a computer when this was going down, i was too busy ravin' my nuts off and trying to score some patch!! now i am not trying to judge some of you kids and spammers and come off as some self righteous, condescending prick. im just giving you my view on that the board in the past 8-12 months has really evolved into a cesspool of nonsense at times. and i have an theory what fostered this evolution, but thats immaterial. lastly, no one is saying you cant have fun on the boards. moderation is the key here, dont overdue it, thats not asking too much.
scott, i understand your trying to do your job and honestly i cant believe you put up with the that you do. but sometimes you do come off as partial to atlta's, your objectivity is suspect at times. at any rate i think you are doing a good job overall, you seem to be a very astute and wise individual. and its ridicuolous that is where it is at right now, but such is life.
concluding, personally i think florida should have its own forum for other more fundamental reasons; the main one being we have the largest scene in the nation, and that we have alot of events that go on month to month. not that we think our scene is better than atlantas or anything like that we just have alot of stuff going on. i beleive almost every large city in this country has something unique and special to offer edm-wise, and that should be embraced and celebrated from the east to the west coast. in short i am sorry for the hyberbolic dialogue at times, but i am sincere in what i feel and i didnt mean to offend anyone with this post just state my opinion. peace, neil;) :crazy: :wtf: ;) :D |

I wasn't really going to say anything on this but, this whole thing really is a shame. It think it's ridiculous having someone who doesnt even mod our forum come in and create this poll, it's even more sad even having the issue to decide on a separation. I mean come on, a separation?? I hate to say it, but it makes you guys who want this look real bad. I didn't realize having such a "better" scene would make you guys want to be on your own.
As far as Damon goes, we all know he's a smart ass and that he kids with us. But I think you all know just as much as I do, that with the people he doesn't like he does take it too far. And wouldn't you know it, it was an Atlanta mod that suspended him.
So it looks as though this might happen. Good luck you guys, and I'm sure this will fix all of the problems. :gsmile:
*edit* By the way, since we all know each other won't we all be posting all over anyway? |

| your right colleen. it is a shame, i feel bad because i feel like i contributed to the pettiness. but go over to the nyc forum, its nite and day, no bull threads like, "nyc sucks", "whos the hottest nyta poll", "nyta drunk thread", "nyta melly is zomG!!" birthday threads everyday, "who's the biggest spammer', "george bush is a stick", etc, etc. just much less garbage and more substance, just an observation. |

Just feeding off what Neil and Colleen said... What will the separation really accomplish in the end? Will Mario, Javi and Stephen stop posting conversations with each other despite the fact they hang out with each other almost every day. Will DA stop replying with a single smilie? Will koky stop posting random links and pics? Will the birthday threads ever end? Regarding all the drama, has anyone really lost any sleep over it? Any blood spilled or long grudges? I can tell you from my end, no. At the end of the day, there will be two forums instead of one with the same damn issues.
God I hope I'm wrong. |

I don't think the atl scene is better than miami or vice versa because in the end we get about the equal amount of big name djs... seriously!
but, if you think about the fact that the distance miami-orlando is already about the distance of amsterdam-paris, then how far apart are miami and atlanta then? does that make sense? we're just 2 entirely separate places and I think if you tried to put all of western europe into a section together there would be issues too. I don't know most of the atl ta's personally, nothing against them either...
but I just think since we're 2 different places with large member groups, and lots of different events happening all the time and we both meet the requirements needed for our own section so I really don't think it's such a bad idea.
I just don't even bother to post anymore 99% of the time because some jackoff I don't know is going to come and post stupid , half the threads dont have to do with music/parties/the scene and there's just too much going on for me to actually take or have the time to browse through all of it...
all of that having been said....

You are probably right... but there will only be half that number of crap that I personally will have to go through... and that makes me happy enough seeing how it wont all be completely gone.
and in DA's defense, as of late, he's been quite good about the smiley thing. I think he's actually aware of it himself and trying to stop it ;) Now if the rest would do the same, things would be PER-FECT! :) |
