Surprise from listening to z103 last nite (pg. 2)

I am forced to listen to gay 103 all day at work since I'm not sure my co-workers would appreciate me playing my house music, but every once in awhile when Say Hello, La Noche etc. comes on the radio I don't mind listening to it, rather prefer this than the stupid hip-hop, pop, rock songs that are played but the one song I just can't stand is that STUPID beverly hills cop song, it's done by same fag named Streetfrog. URGH!!! Every time I hear that song it actually makes me angry.

they play max graham's owner of a lonely heart 5 times a day

So I decided to listen to good old z103 last nite before bed, and to my surprise, I hear Deep Dish's Say Hello!:eyes:

When the heck did z103 start playing stuff like this? I thought they played Tiesto here and there but that was all. I couldn't believe I was actually hearing this song on the radio.

My sister says they often play David Guetta - The World Is Mine as well...

They do, this is correct!

those songs are both top40 in most of the world so its not really a surprise that z103 is playing it.

I agree.

i hate when z103 picks up good songs though, it ruins it for ppl who like music

I think that's ridiculous... why should the popularity of any song (amoung WHATEVER crowd or group of ppl) affect you're opinion of it?? :conf: That seems incredibly strange to me! I dont see how your liking the music is dependent on it not being heard by a larger audience.

I've heard the World Is Mine on Z103 for a few weeks now.

As far as Say Hello goes... well it was dumped by like 60% when it was on pump it or dump it but I'm sure that when the ginos find out it's in regular rotation that they'll change their minds (or at least pretend to).

The liking of music can easily be changed based on how popular it is. I'm sorry but when I play a song all the time at home and then here it everywhere I go and hear people talking about it all the time it annoys me.

dammit... I can't play Say Hello anymore...

will just have to get me hands on the remixes... and not that crappy PvD mix.

Dave Guetta - The World is Mine is just one of those tracks that gets into your head and sticks

Its owns me. I LOVE IT!

I hate that radio station, in fact. Most of the Toronto radio stations lick. Besides Q / and sometimes (rarely) Jack.

I caught the begining of the drive at 5 today..was good for 5-10 mins...good tunes. then it switched to (Wannabe)hip/hop.

I rarely listen to the radio anymore. its 2hp or di for me or cds in the car.

it's not the fact the songs get 'popular' on z103. It's just the fact that even the greatest tracks have limited appeal one their hammered into your head 50 times a day because of the radio station's rediculously short playlist.

That and the fact it kinda annoys me when all the tracks that are actually quality that are picked for their 'pump it or dump it' segment are all dumped because none of the listeners know who the artist is, only to be turned into a hit a couple months down the road. IE deep dish's say hello.

It's embarassing to be afilliated with those same listeners, but hell, I don't have a system in my old beast of a car, so I tune in anyway.

Actually, I hear flow plays some classic house from time to time, and I've been waiting to catch them in the act doing so.

What I would like to see, since it sounds to me that z103 is slowly moving away from the pop it used to play to a more dance music orientated station, is a live to air show with some real EDM being played on it. Maybe a live to air with manzone and strong from skybar? Nothing too crazy, but all in all quality music that has fairly decent appeal.

This is certainly NOT the case. They used to be predominantly euro (the majority) and hip hop with *some* pop.

Now they are predominantly pop and hip hop with some popular rock or alternative tunes. Euro is taking a MASSIVE back-bench to these other damned genres! :whip: Z just happens to be picking up a few really solid trance and house tracks of late, but by NO means are these becoming a significant fixture in their musical database.

i was being very sarcastic in the way i worded my comment. but the truth in my comment is that i hate the ignorance of ppl when they hear more 'underground' music on the radio, and they'll like it just because z103 picked it up and because its popular, but not because its a good song. at republik on saturday when the dj dropped 'tiesto - traffic' the crowd went off the wall. when jes from motorcycle came on to perform, half the room cleared. (she didn't open with as the rush comes, but i'd place money that if she did the crowd that left woulda gone nuts and think it was awesome because the radio told them that its good).

Someone with some money needs to start a Trance/House station for this area. If I win the lottery, get ready folks!
