it has to be done slowly in today's society. Back then energy 108 was a marginal station and they had nothing to lose by playing something different. Unfortunately there are no independant stations left. Z103 has to be very careful that they dont scare away everybody all at once.
Id still like to see a good station come to toronto but unfortunately radio now is all about marketing and has nothing to do with taste in music. |

what the hell do you care about what the masses listen to. do your thing, listen to your music and don't think its better than everyone elses.
there is a clear distinction of whats underground and whats mainstream, i think jayx1 pointed that out pretty well. but desregard these generalizations and placements. just because some songs you listen to made it on air of some cheezy radio station doesn't make them cheezy or mean you have to stop listening to it. if you loved it so much it wouldn't get "overplayed" cause there is no such thing as "overplayed" as far as good tunes are concerned. u people care too much, its just music dammit. |
i agree... mainstream or not a good song is a good song. But the sound of the songs pointed out are definately not underground. Enjoy the songs but dont be surprised or get upset when everyone else also enjoys them. Thats my point.
The more people who listen to dance music the better. |

All I gotta say is the goons that run this station are retarded. Looping the newest tune over and over, and whats with the names
Danny D
Marky D
Jimmy J
whatever their names are its hilarious
Tonny monaco looks like Ron Jeremy, like get a hair cut dude.
I dont know if anyone was listening when they interviewed tiesto but one of their questions was "So I hear you have a record label, when did you start that?" WOW unreal is all thats really to be said about this half assed station. |

Yes, percisely. thats kinda what I was trying to say that but i'm not well with my words today..
It makes me happy when i see people enjoying the same tunes i do.. don't care if its some huge gino/richard raiban, some elitist TA, some nub z103 dj, your grandma, or just some random clubber. music is music |

So true. As long as they're playing it, who cares.
I was surprised to see The World is Mine, but as long as our genre gets exposure, regardless of where it is, it is a good thing. |

| We've been playing a lot of tunes that the Z, picks up about 6 months later. They want to tap into our market of course. |

| lol I rather have them reply something like Iio - Rapture (Riva Mix) or Sandler - Theme Song (Sandler Mix) over and over than rap music or hip hop that makes me gag just trying to listen to the lyrics and see how sexist or incomprehensible or something bleh they may be. |

i was being very sarcastic in the way i worded my comment. but the truth in my comment is that i hate the ignorance of ppl when they hear more 'underground' music on the radio, and they'll like it just because z103 picked it up and because its popular, but not because its a good song. at republik on saturday when the dj dropped 'tiesto - traffic' the crowd went off the wall. when jes from motorcycle came on to perform, half the room cleared. (she didn't open with as the rush comes, but i'd place money that if she did the crowd that left woulda gone nuts and think it was awesome because the radio told them that its good). |
Okay, gotcha. And I agree that it seems sad when someone only likes a song bc its the "in thing" and popular currently. |

| I agree on that a lot and I think that was my failed attempt earlier when mentioning about having the song overplayed. When suddenly everyone around you likes a song 'cause they just heard it on the radio, not because it's simply a good song unto itself, is what frazzles me. It loses this level of personal enjoyment because it's been publicized and marketed as the "in" song. Not all of those people are like that but it's hard to find one who likes it because it's good AND that they found out about it on the radio. |
