Just goes to show how pathetic this world wide TIC has became. Who the needs this super insane DJ booth.....who the needs all this craziness going on with acts, lights, lazers, who the needs rehearsals to spin music......oh yeah I forgot.....Tiesto.

I remember the first time I saw Tiesto, was at the OLD OLD Glow(Club Zei).... I think in 2001? All I know is me and my ex were hanging upstairs in the VIP, and here walks in Tiesto w/ Arnie, and no one knows who he is. So we chatted with him like a 1/2 hr, bought a round of drinks, etc... those were the good old days, not this concert bull that's going on now. I'd rather see a DJ spin on a beach, than inside some dark arena anyday of the week...

Yeah, pretty neat to stop at my moms to say hello sometimes and hear an Armin cd blasting in the kitchen while she is making dinner or Ferry Corsten on my brothers kick ass computer speakers. My mom had no problem letting me put my turntables in the spare room. I just can't wait to start using them! :D

no I cant live without it. most of us dont want to have to fly all over the place and go to outrageous lengths to see a show on one given night. this is crap. it was bad enough that he was neglecting a major US city (NY), but to cancel this show instead of rescheduling it and still playing a DC show around the same time, is an example of what a sad state of things involving Tiesto has become...

One more time. Do you really think Tijs prefers DC to NYC? Do you really think he wouldn't like (want) to play in NYC as it's the biggest city on the east coast?
GK and some other comp were taking care of everything and they couldn't find a right venue for TIC in NYC. Central park, MSG and some other places could be the options but it didn't work out that is why they decided to do in DC.
It is Tiesto in Concert it's not just an ordinary show. Believe me he is going to be in Dc and NYC very soon with a regular gig at Crobar and Fur.
A sad state of things? I tell you next - on aug 25 i got an e-mail from people from DC with an info that TIC in DC won't happen. I contacted "da man" and he said that everything was happening, oct 21 as it was scheduled. If not he would have known about it already. The next days i read this thread from Panorama Productions with a confirmation that it was cxl. Believe or not but Tijs and his management found out about it last night as well. Do you think it was his fault? I think you have to blame people who were wrong with thier calculation and scheduled TIC right after another big show of U2.

and one note for Tiesto haters. From my own experience - if i am indifferent to a dj - i just skip the thread but don't post some nasty, angry, ignorant ect replies. I simply don't care!
I said "indifferent" because i can't dislike a dj just because i don't like a music s/he spins. Why many of you confuse those two things. It reagards to your posts, Vtech.

although i'm not generally a fan of the somewhat silly concept of an "edm concert," i think all the people who volley criticisms are missing the point. you don't attend a TiC to experience underground tunes or precision turntablism: you go for the sheer spectacle -- an extravagganza of lights, lasers, magicians, dancing bears and unicycles that's as easy on the ears as it is the brain. and at 65 beans for 4 hours those f0ckin' bears better be poppin' and lockin'...

accept it for what it is and judge it on its own terms.

(and don't underestimate the ancillary benefits a mainstream event like a TiC brings to the scene as a whole; it showcases a more palatable and benign side of clubbing, which in a time of gestapo-like raids, can only be a welcome addition.)
