This is what im talking about......the scene has become way to commercial for it's own good....and that's why things like the cancelling of TIC in DC happen. |

but seriously...on one hand it sucks that TIC was cancelled, cuz it was a reason to go down but hey, then i won't have to buy OVERPRICED tickets for a 4 hr show...id rather save my money and go to the FULLBLOWN TIC in Europe if anything
Guess ill just have to find another reason to go since i need to use my bus tickets (they expire in november). even if i just end up sightseeing down there...can have fun widout partyin'...

I've only been a part of the scene for about 4 years, late to the game, but enjoy it just the same. I've gone to a gazillion wonderful shows in NYC, Philly, Boston, and Miami (WMC) and have really enjoyed myself, though I haven't meet too many TA's in person. I'm not a big poster on the forums but I really enjoy reading the banter about the shows I've gone to and the shows I've missed. I have learned a great deal from what all of you have to say about edm, the scene, the songs, the dj's, the fans, etc. and I appreciate being able to see so many points of view that are so often surprising and wonderful and insightful. I just thought I'd send out this thank you, to all of you, for expressing yourselves so passionately, and sticking to what you believe is true. No matter what side of the scene you happen to be on ~ hardcore fan with a huge wealth of knowledge ~ or new to the scene gal who chills with the dj's ~ I'd rather enjoy being part of both parties.

I am upset that he cancelled too, but damn Brian I think you are going a little overboard. I understand some of you have been "raving" for a long time now but this is a great idea for those who never got the chance and may not like that sort of environment to listen to the music in. Wanting to take my mom to this event for her birthday is a perfect example, even though she begs to be taken to a club. But there are people who love the music just as much, if not more then you do but also choose to go about it in a different way. DJ Tiesto is giving everyone a chance to do just that. He cancelled because he wants to give those who care about the music no matter what a good time while they are sitting in their seats. Personally, I even would love to sit and watch something like this to my absolute favorite music in the world. Kinda ironic how a lot of you knock Sveta for bragging about her personal relations with djs yet you brag about your own "Im old school so I am better then you" posts. Sveta coming on this forum gives us a bigger picture of what a lot of these djs are like and about. Maybe you dont care but there are those who do. There are people out there who want to know a little bit more about their "favorite" dj.
PS: Brian, a beautiful woman posted a picture of herself topless and you are complaining?  |

Jesus Christ.....yet another noob that just doesn't get it. Where in any of my posts did I even relate to being better than anybody because Ive been around longer.:rolleyes: Your about as dumb as a brick.:o I guess there always has to be somebody that sticks up for the chick.....way to be man....you might get laid out of this.:haha:
Edit: Let me explain this to you so maybe you will understand it more clearly. You sit there and bitch about not being able to take your mom to go see Tiesto because it got cancelled....right? Well let me let you in on a little secret....Tiesto did not cancel him trip himself....TIC and Angle Live did because they finally realizied they bit off more than they could chew and couldn't set up for it in time.....that's piss poor management and planning....yeah like this happens...but alot more these days because the shows are getting bigger and bigger....hence more commercial. If you wanna sit there call me a know it all because im speaking my mind thats your call but guess what.....im ing right.;) |

Actually, Brian, I wasn't talking to you specifically in my post. When I was I included your name. When I was speaking to the general public I think I used the word "you guys" or something along those lines. Damn dude, the world doesn't revolve around you all the time... ass! :D
Did I not include good enough reasons for sticking up for Sveta a little? Sorry, I dunno, that just might be how...... I FEEL! I understand that what happened could be piss poor management but I also realise that just happens man and not to really let it get to the me to the point of throwing useless rants and raves at people. You might also be right about why. But becoming more cmomercial is inevitable in todays world. I think that your main problem is that you cant accept change in your life. Change that may include things that you love. Understandable, but please... if the "noob" doesn't have a problem with it then the "noob" doesnt care about why you do. |
