| I don't believe in god, and I feel sorry for all who do. You guys will live your lives believing that when you die you will go into this paradise just made for you and your good behaviour. What is worst is that you won't ever live life to the fullest because of God. Serioulsy, if there was a god and he loved all his people why would he create a place for the wicked? Once you die your body decomposes and the bacteria return with the rest of the bacteria. That is it your live is done and you will never return the same. |

The only thing I do differently is treat people nicer. Thomas Aquinas made the statement that God by definition is logical and fair and to think otherwise would be blasphemy.
I enjoy beer, hanging out with friends, wrestling with chicks and boobs. I swear in jest and break stuff and generally just have a good time.
On the flipside I abide by honor and integrity. You break something you fix it. You knock over your friends lamp and not only repay him, but go and get the lamp because he shouldnt have to go and buy another one because of you.
Do good unto others, treat people fair and well. I walk away from fights now and don't care any more. Ego and Pride have been greatly reduced in my daily interactions with people and focusing on being a better person has helped much.
To say that my life as a pilot, scuba diver, rock climber, double major going into law school with good friends and awesome travels has been impoverished by God is a ridiculous claim, and one that most people ignorant to true religion do; that is that it is restrictive and a stifling of 'human nature' to have sex, drink, swear, and rough house.
On the contrary, I would say it says enjoy these things as much as you can; just without breaking the law or being unfaithful to a loved one. It tries to create a system in which you can operate fully and freely, but without thereby impoverishing OTHER people's lives.
People tend to forget the whole second half of the Bible being Jesus' New Testament of love, grace, and forgiveness.
Love God with all your heart, mind and soul. Love thy neighbor. Create fellowships with other humans. Those are the basic principles and I really dont see how that could lessen a life. |

everything has a foundation.
i believe in that foundation.
all other ideals, rules, myths, limitations are created by a human interpretation of devine "law".

Agreed. Ive said for years that sunday morning catching a sunrise on a 4000 foot mountain is my church. The main reason the "church" was established was to be a place for people to gather together to increase fellowship and plan good works and do community building. Now even the more Evangelical churches are singing and Bible readings and then everyone goes home and it doesnt enrich or enforce any kind of moral or societal structure.
Disappointing to say the least, which is why im trying to get involved on the other side of it where you are only doing fellowship and travelling to make lives better. |

Earth exists, evolution exists, God is an omni-present being that exists outside of time. Humans have their own free-will and can do what the heck they want to.

As you shouldn't thanks to the Church we are a thousand years behind in tech and research. The church destroyed a lot of Roman and Greek documents that could have well made the human race better off than it is now. Its kinda odd how people want to give more power to the church you would figure they had learned their lesson but I guess not. |
