I guess this is as good a place to put this here.

Rate my supersaw?

I think that you're confused as to the meaning of supersaw. No offense intended, what you have sounds like a cheesey riff using a casio keyboard.

If you want a powerful supersaw, you need to use a powerful synth. A JP8080 is ideal; a virus works well. z3ta+ works for software, you can also fiddle with vanguard and v-station but your results will be harder to come by.

Use multiple polyphony; it's a sound that envelopes the entire sonic spectrum, and it needs certain FX and tweaks to sound decent. Span 6 octaves if you have to in order to achieve a powerful and strong supersaw.

And if you need that extra "air" in your supersaw.. the secret is to add a little pink noise. :happy2:

Cheers, hope this helps someone.

I appreciate this post bro ;), I'm still a hella noob when it comes to producing :p.

naw.. it's not pink noise, I know what that sounds like.
I'm just not keen on using supersaws,I only have one song that uses them for leads, nor am I familar on what everything does or means (like polyphony, thanks for introducing me to this btw) so I just keep experiementing and tweaking. And like I said before, that sample is pretty raw (no reverb, no delay, no eq...).

Those synths you mention, I always hear about, (z3ta, and virus and such) and I probably won't ever use because their not free. I only use free soft synths, because I'm poor and lazy. :stongue: So my collection isn't too big, but how about supersaws in free synth's like Superwave P8, Synth 1, Triangle 2?

Indeed, it does help sir ;)

Be careful with noise additions... I don't like this technique, I rather use a low pass filter with resonance like this :

If your saws are well detuned there will be enough "noise"
