and personally i dont think there is anything wrong with this. i actually respect the fact that those women r playing soccer covered and stuff. they now have liberation they never had before. everyone bitches about women from islamic countries and how they dont have same rights as men but when they do get some rights such as playing soccer covered ppl still bitch. hmmm . |

i go to iran every summer... It is soooo different from what people think in the west. people are changing. to give freedom to people who havnt seen freedom in 20 years is very dangerous, because they will surely abuse it. so the guvernment is slowly givin people lil by lil of freedom... I brought it up to raise awareness. I'm not ashamed at all. those women who are part of the iranian soccer team are forced to wear those outfits regardless of their consent. Some may like it, some may not. THOSE who don't, should have the freedom to wear the TRADITIONAL soccer outfit (shorts + shirt).
THE ISSUE IS, GOVERNMENT'S SUCH AS IRAN'S where FREEDOM OF CHOICE IS MEANINGLESS.
EVEN ISLAM SAYS "people are free to chose their religion" .
To my understanding , the bible does not specify or DEMAND women to cover themselves from head to toe, NOT EVEN a scarf... HOWEVER, when cristians or forigners enter IRAN, they ARE FORCED to wear it inorder to avoid jail time.
